Axel is a capable swordsman, who although at first seems rude (especially towards elves on the island) and cocky, is truly a good person who cares for his people. He assists his father in forming an alliance with the Kooluk, thinking it would help the people of Na-Nal. However, after Kooluk's betrayal, he is sent by his father to help Lazlo fight them. Here he learns greater respect for elves and others in general.

He later succeeds his father as chief of Na-Nal, and is widely loved by the people. At the request of King en Kuldes, he takes part in Kyril's excursion into Kooluk territory. - KoRnholio
