That's wrong.
The best way would be:
Tactics eps1-3
Suikoden 4
Tactics eps4 to end
Suikoden 5
Suikoden 1
Suikogaiden 1 episode 1
Suikoden 2 & Suikogaiden 1 episodes 2-4*
Suikogaiden 2
Suikoden 3
Suikogaiden episode 2 happens at the same time you are in Muse ang go to the highland post.
Suikogaiden episode 3 happens after that, and before the invasion of Greenhill
Suikogaiden episode 4 is the invasion to Greenhill (I think this happens when you are at Two river, but I can't remember well)
Anyway, the best way to play them in chronological order:
Suikoden 4
Tactics
Suikoden 5
Suikoden 1
Suikoden 2
Suikogaiden 1
Suikogaiden 2
Suikoden 3

Re: Timelime of events based on games
based on events V should be before I
Since Georg Prime was one of the Six Great Generals before he left for Falena.
Also things like Milich Oppenheimer visiting Ceremony of lil Lymmie which isn't possible after S1 because Milich started writing books instead of being a general.

Since S5 takes place right before S1, it's apparent that Georg left Scarlet Moon before S1 and therefore could not have been in the game. At least not as one of the generals of Scarlet Moon.

That is what I thought...the person before me just made me kind of confused for a minute.

I guess it was a little bit of an exaggeration, but from what gensopedia says, it was 5 years. 450: Falenan war ends. 455: Odessa killed. 457: Toran war ends. I don't think that 5 years is a terribly long time. But descriptions of length of time are relative.

The Gensopedia seems to be a little off on some of the time frames, anyway.

Re: Timelime of events based on games
i like that there is a game with it's own history and continuation. i don't think there are other games that i own that do this. (with the exception of shadow hearts).

Re: Timelime of events based on games
it's not gensopedia's fault though, I mean, when you play the games they don't feel like two years, they feel like a few weeks, to a couple months at most. 3 would probably be the most confusing for timelines, since you have 5 perspectives on the timeline. I remember trying to line them all up once, and there were some anachronisms, but even with anachronisms aside, all the events could take place over less than 3 weeks, which would then presumably extended by the neccessary amount of time needed for travel between them. in the other games, consider how many times the game actually requires you to rest for the night. it's usually not that many, and because of that, time can get fairly distorted.

Re: Timelime of events based on games
Very true. IV's timeline is messed up the most on the Gensopedia, though. It says that the events take place over the course of 5 years, but based on the ages on the characters, it's more like 1 year. Plus, we know Brandeux (sp?) gets the RoP 3 years before Tactics' main story begins, so in that 3 year span he had the rune for a little bit, then IV began, then there was some time between IV and Tactics (Snowe says it's been "ages" since he's seen Lazlo) so IV taking place in 5 years is totally off. I think one of the old Suikoden encyclopedias says that the war takes 5 years and that's where they got that from, but most of it must take place before the game.
