I managed to make the changes I wanted to in the MAGI.bin and create a patch file to use for my iso from it. Only problem is that the in battle menu doesn't properly reflect these changes. Which bin file contains the descriptions for spells in the battle menu?

BP0_FST.BIN (first turn) and BP0_SEC.BIN (2nd+ turns). But regardless, you usually can find a string in the iso right away if it's unique enough.

Where are the stats for the Boss monsters located within their respective Bin files? Even after lowering everyone's Stat growth and nerfing most spells to do less damage I still managed to make short work of both the Stone Golem and Neclord right after thanks to Viktor getting some lucky 2k crits.

I posted enemy data format in the "[Guide/Formula]" pinned thread. As for addresses, i just search their data blocks by monster name.

Bumped for posterity.

Where can I find the initial stats for every character or stat growth rate? Does each character have their own initial stats (like Wakaba and LC Chan's initial HP values) or do they have their initial stats based on their stat growth rates?

I am currently experimenting on a stat growth system similar to Suikoden IV where initial stats start at 0 and initial HP start at 1 for everyone.

Generally speaking, people's starting stats are generated when they join. If there's a level one mask, I think it's in ALL.BIN after the stat growths starting around 0x79E into the file, but I've never confirmed.

You can find the stat growth values by searching for the hex string 654576750000000033333233. You'll get six hits (I think) if you search the ISO because they have the data in several files in the 270_BOOT directory in addition to ALL.BIN. I'm not sure where any of them are used, or if they're all even used.

I meant level 1 stats, not starting stats, sorry.

I do recall seeing a YT vid before showing everyone's stats at level 1, and it does seem like they have more or less the same level 1 stats (10-14 stats and 6-70 HP). If there is a way to edit them, the S4 stat engine could be implemented in S2. Otherwise, well, we're stuck with what we have.

Hi,

I am using PSX Game Edit and trying to hack my save to have Gilbert recruited. The kickstarter for Eiyuden Chronicle has made me want to play through the series for the millionth time and I forgot to wound Gilbert to recruit him. I want to hack my save and I have zero knowledge lol. I was able to figure out the money hack while experimenting and I thought I had figured out the character hacks, but I cannot get it to work. Can someone please help me figure out exactly what to edit to recruit Gilbert? According to a hex calculator and guide, I should put "07" at 205B, but the numbers stop at 0x1FF0. I am using a .mcd memory card file if that matters. Thanks for any help!

Thank you all for your continued support of this wonderful franchise! I'm a long time lurker/supporter and first time poster.

Hi, anyone know what is the hex address for rune?
It would be nice if the rune detail can be tweaked (i.e. Flaming Arrows to hit 70 Damages, instead of 60 Damages) ..
Thanks.
