That sounds like the inn on Mt. Tigerwolf even where Ledon serves you tea. The only other times McDohl eats anything is the banquet with Teo in the beginning and the banquet after getting your castle HQ, and nothing like that happens there.

Was the Gremio part in the Saturn version? I don't recall controlling anyone but Mcdohl in Suikoden 1.

There is an event in the Saturn Version where you control Gremio just before he is resurrected, but the scene doesn't include Tir being sick or anything.

Interesting. The Saturn version had some cool additions that were left off the PS1 version. I wish they were included. Battle mode seemed like a cool idea.

Suikoden I & II on PSP are the same as the Playstation versions.

They're not left off, they didn't exist. The Saturn version came out 2-3 years after the original so they hadn't thought of the additions yet.

I totally thought they were released around the same time. I assume it was only available in Japan. Saturn was pretty much dead by 98 in North America and Europe.

This is what is I mean, this is script commands for Suikoden II but not all script commands
  • Script processing control is around 0x80025660
    This is usually passed as $a0 to all script commands
    Script PC is at 0x7C(SPC)
    The value passed on $a1 is the command count/iteration count. (CCT)

    Command Effect
    0x00 Place object (properties set in map data) 0x00 {object idx}
    0x01 Remove object 0x01 {object idx}
    0x02 Set object position 0x02 {object idx} {x-pos} {y-pos}
    D1 and D2 are stored at 0x36 and 0x3A, after >> 3.
    0x03 Orient object 0x03 {object idx} {direction}
    Changes the direction an object is facing by default (or which sprite element is used).
    0 - down, 1 - up, 2 - left, 3 - right
    (you can get walking sprites and such with higher numbers)
    D1 is stored at 0x6, provided slot less X (number of chara?).
    0x04 ?? 0x04 {data 1} {data 2} {data 3}
    0x05 Move character. 0x05 {chara slot} {stride} {speed} {direction 1} {steps 1} ... {direction n} {steps n} 0x1E
    At the end of the direction/step pairs, 0x1E
    0x06 Jump Modifer Character 06??
    0x07 How much Quantity take items 0x07 {data}
    0x08 Null command? 0x08
    0x09 Set Event Flag? (base 0x8006AED7) 0x09 {byte offset} {mask}
    0x0A Clear Event Flag (base 0x8006AED7) 0x0A {byte offset} {mask}
    When mask = 0xFE, clears the area specific flag (loads pointer at 0x8010D6D0, adds 0x9ED7 and offset)
    0x0B ?? 0x0B {data 1} {data 2} {data 3}
    0x0C ?? 0x0C {data 1} {data 2} {data 3}
    0x0D *complicated takes args and performs tasks on variable amounts of data...
    0x0E NaC
    0x0F Swich ON or OFF By Object (0F??) = Commands(0x00 ON)(0x01 OFF)(0x02)
    0x10 Nac
    0x11 Nac
    0x12 Loads pointer at 0x8010BDE0, if *ptr & 0x1D5 != 0, decrements position in script.
    0x12
    0x13 NaC
    0x14 Calls 800A26BC 0x14 {arg 4 (a3)} {val 1} {val 2}
    if val 1 != 0, a1 = 0, a2 = 1, a3 = arg 4, stack 0x14 = val 1, stack 0x10 = val 2
    same if val 1 == 0 && val 2 != 0
    if val 1 == 0 && val 2 == 0, a1 = 0, a2 = 0, a3 = arg 4, stack 0x14 = 0, stack 0x10 = 0
    0x15 ?? (loops through something area related) 0x15
    0x16 ?? Next byte copied to script stack. Effect? 0x16 {unknown}
.....ETC

Only McDohl's sprite is replaced by Futch's and the menu is blocked. You can tell by the fact that Futch can run if someone from the previous group had attached a Holy Rune or True Holy Rune.
