How long is the game?

I'm considering getting the game. I haven't decided on a platform yet (I have no modern game platforms so I will likely have to buy one), but I'm curious what the time investment is. For a casual play through, what would you estimate the playing time as?

I've heard the main story is roughly 10 hours long, with main+extras being about 15 hours.

I finished everything in about 15-16 hours. It's not too long.

Yes, 100%ing it should not take you longer than 15 hours, if even. I think I finished everything in 12 hours.

I finished everything in 18 hours, platinum trophy & did all the post-game content/quests.
And also upgraded & crafted everything possible and raised all characters to max lvl.

So hopefully I have a good save file when Eiyuden Chronicle comes out.

Only things that actually carry over are the weapon names and the town dish - otherwise, you just get a flat bonus for having played the game at all. No levels or items carry over.
