[Guide] Walkthrough

Post by WaterMoon »

Hey all, I finished my play through of SV last night and picked up Tierkreis as an in between break game. I'll still work on my SV walkthrough, but decided I may as well write this one too as I play through the first time. So keep an eye on both forums for updates on guides, as I will quite possibly write them at the same time. Anyways, here's part 1 of my Tierkreis guide. Please don't post any spoilers here, or questions about it, this thread is just for me to share the walkthrough as I write it, and as this is my first play through, as well as in case others haven't played all the way through yet, I don't want anyone ruining it for them (or me) by posting stuff here. I'm trying to keep spoilers to a minimum from this guide.

Re: Tierkreis Walkthrough

Post by WaterMoon »

Welcome to my Suikoden Tierkreis guide. This is intended as a walkthrough, not a plot synopsis, so I will try to keep spoilers to a minimum, but they will happen. Read at your own risk.

As we start the game, we see a nice little video sequence (with voice and all, ah how handheld games have improved) of what is possibly the final battle of the game, or maybe a dream or vision, or a previous set of 108 stars. Who knows? At this point, we certainly don't, but it is interesting to see it happen. Then it asks you to name the Hero. Pick a name you like, since we have yet to have an official one for him. After that, we find ourselves inside a hut, where we also meet Liu and Marica, who join your party (Liu as an entourage member only) and the three seem excited to go somewhere. It is nice to finally have a hero who speaks though, for once. Save if you want and then exit.

**Starbearers 2/108 Hero, Marica**

Head to the town square, where you run into Dirk, who trained you in combat, where you find out you're going on a trip to the Eastern Hill to take care of Laggarts, after stopping by Elder Rajim's house. Head to the Elder's House, where Sisuca, your adoptive mother and sister to Marica, and Elder Rajim, where you find that Jale, the last person for your party, left to the general store. You're asked to go get him and bring him to the town square, so head there now. Jale gives you 4 Medicine and then joins your party.

**Starbearers 3/108 Jale**

Feel free to check out the shop if you want, but there's really nothing you can afford just yet, so head on over to the Town Square again. The Elder talks to you some more, then finally lets you go on your mission, which is finally accepted and Dirk joins you. Go ahead and exit the village and start making your way south on the world map until you find a building there, head inside the Farmer's House. Meet Yadima, who doesn't do much but talk, but it's nice to know where he is for future reference. Now make your way east and north, getting some experience from fights on the world map, as you head to Eastern Hill.

As soon as you enter, you get attacked by a pair of Laggarts who get first strike. Make quick work of them and then head east and then northwest, following the path. Open the chest for a Mega Medicine. Head west to get a chest with Cheery Incense, then head back east. Continue on to the next screen. Keep following the path until the end, where you'll fight some laggarts, get a scene, and backtrack to the east for another, which leads you back west, into a forest.

Keep heading west and save your game when you can. Prepare for a boss fight, because on the next screen, you run into Skull Guts. He hits hard for this point in the game, about 25-30 per hit, and attacks early, but after 2 or 3 rounds with cooperative attacks, he goes down. After a short scene, you're forced to head west. Keep heading west a few screens and run into another scene, where your party finds a book and sees a vision of what we saw when we started the game. After, the scene leads into a fight with 3 Skull Guts. Luckily, you can now use Marks of the Stars, so use Hero's and Jale's on different enemies and have the others use physical attacks, after the end of the first round, you probably killed both, so just have Hero use his mark again and everyone else physical attack and that should be that. After you win, you gain Shining Legacy, and are free to walk on out by heading south and then back the rest of the way you came, seeing a couple scenes along the way. Mission accomplished. Make your way back to the Farmer's House and talk to Yadima for another short scene, then back home to Citro.

Apparantly Marica has a twin who's been harassing the villagers. Looks like you have a new mission already. But first, make your way to the General Store and talk to the Trading Post lady to sell all those goodies you've acquired and buy yourself some better gear. Leather armor and accessories for all 3 characters (Dirk already has some), and maybe a boomerang for Jale and a Kukris or two for Hero. If you can only afford one, don't worry, you don't need it just yet, and can save it for when you find an even better one-hand weapon for him to dual wield. Head out of town and Dirk leaves your party. You now have access to the whole world map, so make use of it and go level up some more. If from the world map you go to Citro Plains (the area you were at earlier) and you head far south and east, past a long river or lake and then back north on the east side of it, you'll find some old ruins. This area is a great way to level up, but will be difficult at first. The fight you're looking for is two Ironripper Rats, and nothing else (run from any other fight). Have Hero and Jale both use their marks on the same rat every turn, while Marica uses hers to heal whoever needs it most. The rats defend often, but when they do attack, they hit for about 60-70 or so at this level. When I did it, Marica was on the front line with a bone kukri and a sword, and Jale was in the back with a boomerang, so Marica got knocked out, but when I succeeded in the kill, Hero and Jale went up 6 levels. If you want to continue in here and level up, the ruins is a pretty straightforward mini dungeon, with just a single twisting path containing two chests, a Mystic Medicine (restores all HP and MP), and a Unicorn Armband, which converts 10 magical power and defense into 10 physical attack and defense. Whenever you feel ready, head out to the world map and go to Flesaria Forest South.

Make your way east where you run into a Wanderer caravan, where you get to see a scene, and you meet Hotupa and Moana, and Hotupa joins your entourage, just like Liu, as he's looking for something. You can talk to the other man here in the Wnaderer Camp to rest and recover HP and MP. Continue east to the next screen where you run into a couple of creepy guys looking for something. After the scene is over, take the southern fork in the road and follow it to another scene, and get attacked by the Saw Kingfisher. Just keep attacking it with marks and heal with Marica when needed, and after a few rounds (based on your level, it's a certain amount of damage that hasta be dealt), you will be saved by.... Marica? Her double, to be exact. It turns out she's from another world, and Hotupa seems to understand what's going on, but rather than tell you, he suggest you make your way to the Fortress Ruins deeper in the forest. She joins your party (her name will be Marica? to help distinguish between the two). Go ahead and put her in a front row slot in your party, and then decide if you need to head back out to rest and shop, or continue. If you want to leave for whatever reason, just head south along the eastern of the two paths to go back to the world map, otherwise continue north, heading west at the intersection. When you are ready to proceed, you'll notice that Marica? is pretty decently off. She's in comparable gear to your party, but she has 4 Marks equipped, including another Healing Gleam.

Continue west along the following screen to the next, which has you going north and east. You'll come to a couple of areas branching off the main path, first one going northwest leading to a chest with Mint, then the other southeast leading to a chest with Mega Medicine. Save your game at the orb at the end of this screen, and continue east. After a scene, you can contine on to the world map, going to the Fortress Ruins. Just keep following the straightforward path a couple screens till you come to an option, or what looks like one, but you can only go south (going west just gets you told to go back), and Hotupa explains the Gateway to you. Another monster (Marica? calls it a Renegade) comes out of the Gateway and flies off, so you hafta chase after it. Head back towards the entrance of the ruins, and fight it, just like the last one, and after you deal enough damage, no one can hurt it but Marica?, who will kill it. Head back to the Gateway and you all head through to the other world, or try to and find out that Hero can't, even though the others can. Hotupa asks to touch your book, and unlike everyone else, he sees the vision and remembers that there was never a forest here. He recommends going to the nearby city of Cynas to research it at the library there.

**Starbearers 4/108 Hotupa**

As you head out (taking that west finally) Liu leaves your party to head back to Citro, and Moana shows up and explains she'll help you find work, so head back east a couple screens and talk to her. She has nothing in the way of work for you right now, but she does have your rewards for the past two missions, so talk to her about them to get 500 potch and a bone axe.

**Starbearers 5/108 Moana**

Head back out to the world map, where you now have a few options. If you want to, you can go back to Citro to sell, or back to the forest or plains (a good time to go visit those Mysterious Ruins) to get Hotupa's level caught up with your own, or continue forward by going to Flesaria Forest North.

Inside the Northern Forest, there's no treasures or scenes, so just head west, and when you get to the crossroads on the first screen, take the southwest path to the next screen. Follow the path to the crossroads, and this time take the northeast path to the next screen, as you can't yet go to Gineh Valley. On the third screen, just head west back out to the world map, and make your way to the village of Grayridge.

Inside town, head to the Vendor and Trading Post for a shock. All items, except for goods, are marked up about 10 times due to a tax, so don't buy anything just yet. Exit the store and head to the inn for another scene. Afterwards, exit for another scene, and then make your way Outside Ch Hall, where you see a scene between Gilliam and Logan. Go speak to Gilliam to find out the Secretary, Macoute, won't be doing passes for 5 days. When your party voices their objections, the secretary himself comes out, followed by a girl named Erin, who does not seem to like you at the present moment. Macoute tells you that you will work for him, and Logan, Erin's father, runs up. Macoute leaves, telling you not to come back until you believe the Order's teachings. Mission accomplished, for now.

For now, leave the Ch Hall and make your way to the inn, where it turns out Logan's the owner. Talk to him to stay to see another scene, where Erin shows up and reveals her suspicions that Macoute is corrupt, using the tax money for his own benefits and wants you to help her prove it. Both she and Logan join you, Logan in your active party (replacing Hotupa, who goes into companion role), and Erin as a companion. Leaving the inn, Erin tells you the best place to check is the mine, so head there. Inside the mine, Hero pulls out the book, and both Logan and Erin, upon touching it, they too gains Marks of the Stars and join you officially.

** Starbearers 7/108 Logan, Erin **

Follow the path up, learn a bit about the lift, and at the first 3 way, take the path going down/south, and follow it to the next screen, which leads to a chest containing an Iron Shield. Head back to the intersection and go left, continuing left at the next intersection and continue on until you come to what looks like a dead end. Go left, into the wall, then head down, and you'll walk through a secret tunnel, going right into a hidden room at the bottom, which holds a chest containing a Revival Statue. Go back to the intersection and head north. Head right at the top to reach another "dead end" with a hidden path through the eastern wall, hiding a chest with an Iron Sword. Feel free to equip it and the Bone Kukri from Citro on Hero if you want, then head back all the way west and take the ladder to the next screen. Watch a scene to learn more about gateways and how you can use them to fast travel (nice to know for later), and then follow along the path to the next screen. Ignore the first two options to turn, they go to empty dead ends. The third one is the one we want, but first continue past it south to get the chest with an Iron Ore, then go back to the intersection and go west. Keep west when given the choice and go to the next screen.

Heal up if needed, and save. Continue east to fight the Six-Eyed Worm. Standard boss battle, he either attacks one person for about 40-50 damage, or does an effect that damages all your party members with a chance of paralyzing them. After beating him, continue east past the lift to find the evidence you need, as well as another book, Noble Steel, which grants all your party members another Mark of the Stars. Make your way back, via the lift, to the entrance, where you run into Macoute and Gilliam, and end up fighting Gilliam and 2 Cynas Conscripts. This is a tough fight, as they're strong against all but strike, so if you're using swords instead of your cudgel still, feel free to fire away with Marks of the Stars. After you beat him, you'll see a short scene and find yourself back in the inn.

Head over to the chapter hall to meet up with Logan and Erin, heading to the door where you finally get your Pass. Exit the chapter hall, meeting Semias on the way out, and finally prices are normal in the shops, so have at it. Once you're ready to continue the story, head to the Inn and Erin asks to come with you to Cynas and you get your next mission.

Talk to the lady in the inn to change your party members, adding Hotupa and Erin in. Once you're ready to go, exit town and make your way to Fort Arc. First you see some troops heading out and you meet a mysterious man who tells you about the Order going to war with other countries. On the next screen, you run into the two creepy guys from the forest again, and one of them is attacking the guards, and we find out they seem to be higher ups in the Order, as the guard captain orders his men to let them pass. Show the guards your pass and continue on through, then go to Cynas.

Inside you meet Icas, a very flirtatious guy who gets chased off by the guards, and they end up closing up the tower where the library is kept. As the scene continues, you meet other characters, Savina and Darrow, as well as learn a bt more about the Order's beliefs and how those under the order feel about them. You also find out that you need to stay the night at the inn in hopes of the Tower of the Way being open the next day, so after doing some shopping, make your way there and talk to the innkeeper to progress.

After the scene, leave his room, make your way for the exit of the inn to learn about doctors under the Order, and make your way back to the man's room. With all these scenes telling us about the Order and how people follow their beliefs, it seems the Order is gonna be a big factor in at least this portion of the game, if not the entire game. As morning arrives, you all go automatically to the library, where you ask Diadora, the archivist, to look at the books you have, and that creepy couple of guys are there as well, and seem very interested in your book. The guys are named Conon and Fergus, and the three of them seem to know something about the ruins popping up out of nowhere.

As the scene continues, you get mission accomplished, and accept your new mission, though without being able to access our menu, we don't know all the details yet (but it seems to be to get the heck out of Cynas with the books), as the scene continues, with Valfred about to share words with everyone. Personally, his ideas and words creep me out, and everyone being so calm about it is even creepier. As you try to run, you end up having to fight Conon and Fergus. You can't win this fight, just try to survive for three rounds (using Hotupa's second mark is great here, stunning them one at a time) and it will be broken up by General Vaslof, who tells you to leave while he deals with them.

No use arguing, so take care of whatever you need to left here in Cynas and then leave town and head back to Fort Arc on your way to Grayridge, When you get to Fort Arc, you're forced to stop and watch a scene then actually run out and continue on to Grayridge.

Something's going on in front of the chapter hall, so head there and find out the army wasn't headed to Janam, but is headed to Citro. Head to the inn to add Logan to your party, and make your way to the mine. Head north to the lift to run into Semias again for a bit of a humorous bet, then make your way back towards the screen with the Gateway. Find yourself back at the Gateway in the Fortress, and Marica and Jale leave your party. Mission Accomplished. No new mission officially yet, but leave the screen to talk to Moana, and she gains her own marks of the stars now too, and as the scene continues, you find out that Marica and Jale are back already, and that the battle will begin tomorrow. Start by saving your game on the next screen (Moana won't let you complete your missions just yet), and head north, then west, for another scene, where you discuss your strategy for the upcoming battle while some familiar music for Suikoden fans plays.

When you're ready, talk to Liu and tell him you're ready, and he'll help you set up your 3 parties. Only Hero's party will actually see combat, but the groups should be good as is, so exit out when you're done setting up your formations and so on. We now accept the mission to defend the village, and get into the first fight: a Cynas Conscript and a Cynas Archer. As the scene continues, you see Logan and Dirk being beat by Conon and Fergus. Again, you just have to survive three rounds and you will be saved by Liu and head back to the fortress, and Liu finally joins your active party. Make your way to the western entrance hall, preparing for a fight, only to be saved again, this time by Asad, Chrodechild, and their forces. Mission accomplished. You get to watch some scenes and find out why the Magedom of Janam sent them. When you can control your character again, make your way out to Moana to turn in all those missions finally. She has nothing new for you, so talk to the various members of your group for their opinions if you wish, and make your way to the Wanderer's tent near the eastern exit for a scene with Dirk. Afterwards, head back up to the hall to have a chat with Asad and agree to join them. You now get to choose the name of your company, and it will be referred to as "[Name] Company," just like in other Suikodens. Fans will notice that Liu gives the same traditional "Orange Company" suggestion we see in all the games, and "Unicorn Company" from Suikoden II makes an appearance as a suggestion again.

**Starbearers 8/108 Liu**

Asad and Chrodechild join your party and you now are set to head to the Magedom of Janam. You can't change your party, not even to add Erin for support, but Asad and Chrodechild come in at quite a bit above your own level (they were 26 and 28 respectively while Hero and Marica were 18 for me), so this isn't something you should worry about. Go ahead and leave the fortress now, heading east to Mislato River. On the first screen you meet Luvais, the man you met outside Fort Arc, but he doesn't join you and only helps the plot a bit. Head east to the next screen, On this screen, there's no real exploring, as every alternate path is blocked by Magedom soldiers telling you to head east, so do so, saving as you pass the save point if you want (there's no boss just past it). At the third screen, head south to find a fourth screen with a chest containing Mislato Salmon, then go back to the third screen and east to the world map.
Go east to the city of El-Qaral. Once there, Asad tells you the first place you will go is the Imperial Plaza, but feel free to go shopping if you like. When you're ready to continue, head to the Imperial Plaza and Chrodechild will excuse herself, leaving your party. Inside, you meet the Mage Lord Danash VIII, his Empress consort Shairah, and his son Shams. You are formally asked to join forces with the Magedom, and upon accepting, you are asked for a favor. Specifically, he wants you to take care of a third book, and to go to the Arcane Academy to get it. Shairah joins you as a companion, and once outside Asad leaves. 3 new places have opened up, the Plaza, the Blades Outpost and the Arcane Academy. There's nothing to do at the first 2 yet, so head to the Academy.
Inside, you're greeted by Rizwan, the second Empress consort, who takes you back to see the book after some banter with Shairah. There, a scholar named Mubal explains it a bit more for you. You touch the book, see another vision, and gain a third Mark of the Stars. And Mubal comes with you to observe and learn, also introducing a new kind of orb, a red one that lets you adjust your Marks of the Stars. Head out and Shairah leaves you and you're told to head back to the fortress. As you exit town, Chrodechild talks to you, letting on a bit more about the Magedom. Head back to your fortress. As you enter the entrance hall, you tell Moana to gather everyone up in the grand hall, so head on up, and you all decide that yes, you want to fight the Order, and that the fortress will be your base. It will be called "Castle [Name]" as opposed to the more traditional "[Name] Castle" used in other Suikodens. After some scenes and talking, you'll find yourself at the Gateway.
Time for some recruiting. First, make sure you turn in all missions to Moana and don't accept any more yet. Then take the Gateway to Greyridge, going to the mine. In front of the lift you'll see a scene with the inventor and his robot, but they're too busy improving the lift to join you for now. To the right of them is Anya, the gossip from earlier, who you can recruit, so go ahead and do so. Head back to your castle and if it is flower season, you'll have a scene where you meet Selen, Jale's mom. She beats him up and he says next time he'll win. If you want to recruit her now, you have to wander the world map until the next flower season (roughly 90 days) and then go back to your castle, and there should be a scene with her appearing (it's pretty buggy as to whether you get it or not). If she IS there, then you'll have a one-on-one fight between her and Jale, but it works like normal combat, not the duel you're used to. If you beat her, she joins you, if not, you have to wait until next flower season. This is NOT an easy fight, even at level 19-20, but it can be done. If you do it early, it's a lot of GOOD experience for Jale (I did it at level 19 and got 8500 experience, leveling him up to 28).

**Starbearers 10/108 Anya, Selen**

Now head back to Moana, and she will tell you that you have 3 requests from the Magedom already, one from each Empress Consort. You can only do one at a time (you can't accept all 3 and then work on them separately), and you only need to do one, but we'll cover all 3, going in the order that we met the consorts (so first, second, third).

a. The first one has Shairah wanting you to scout out an Order stronghold, and she'll tell you more when you reach the Imperial Palace, so accept the mission and head to El-Qaral, going to the Imperial Plaza. Shairah asks you to go recon Ladzaa Fortress with Asad. You'll have to reselect your party, and Asad will take up one slot. When you're ready, head back to Mislato River, and go to the screen with the save point. Head north across a previously blocked bridge and you'll hit an intersection. To the west is another intersection, with two chests across the bridges, one containing a Sapphire Rod, the other a Magedom Sword. Go back to the initial intersection and follow the path northeast to the next screen, where you'll see a scene, then continue on. The path is pretty linear, so follow it until you reach what looks like an intersection, then head west to the next screen for another scene and a fight. Take care of it then you have to reselect your party, adding the beastman Cougar in. Head back to El-Qaral, where you get an immediate scene. Head to the inn for another scene, then leave and both missions are completed. Head back to your castle for another scene, then leave the Gateway screen for yet another scene, and then go to the Entrance for ANOTHER scene, and prepare for attack, picking your party but having to have Liu. Feel free to save now, and remember to equip marks on your recruited characters.

**Starbearers 13/108 Wahie, Zahra, Eunice **

When you're ready to fight, head to the Front Entrance (the same area you fought Selen), and fight a miniboss, the Porpos and two Porpos Soldier. This fight should go fast, they're not really even a miniboss. Afterward, head back to the Entrance to continue the series of scenes, which continues further when you head upstairs and again when you head east. After the scene, you're in Flesaria Forest North, so follow him the way he passed, heading towards Greyridge until you have yet another scene, and another unwinable fight that ends after 3 rounds. Afterwards, have another scene and then be back in your castle. You can continue to the next Consort mission now, but first some more recruiting. Head to the world map, and you should see a scene with Sisuca, so head to Citro Village and the Elder's House. Watch a scene, then leave and head back to your castle, going to the Tavern for another scene where she officially joins. She acts as a movie viewer, to let you go back and see any videos you've already seen.

**Starbearers 14/108 Sisuca **

Head back to the Gateway and go into the Corridor Chamber. Head right and talk to the Wanderer Man there. Head back to Moana and accept her Window Information quest, also learning that his name is Tongatihi. Dispatch whoever you want, they'll fail no matter what, so go ahead and leave your castle and wander the world map for 5 days then come back and report in (you make 100 potch even though you failed). For now we'll continue on to the next Consort mission, but we'll be back to recruit Tongatihi after.

b. Rizwan wants you to bring Mubal and your strongest characters with you to El-Qaral, so do as she asks and make your way there, entering the Arcane Academy to trigger the next scene, and then to the Prince's Palace. During another scene you gain the Academy Key. When you're ready, return to the Academy. Rizwan will want you to fight a "magebeast" so when you're ready, tell her and fight. It's not too hard, weak to slash attacks, and it should be done in 2-4 rounds. After the fight, ignore what Rizwan said about going to the inn and instead examine the door on the right side of the room. Follow it along into the next room and then down stairs until the bottom, entering the door for another scene. Head back up and out and to the Prince's Palace for another scene, then head back to your castle. We have more steps toward recruiting to do, so go turn in your missions to Moana and accept the Arcane Academy Tour one. It plays out already taking you to the Mislato River, and when the scenes are done, head back to your castle to turn in the failed mission. Accept the quest Gateway to the Infinity and send a team along, then wander the world map for 10 days and return to the castle to turn it in. Now you should have Tongatihi's second quest, Windows Beyond the Gateway available, so send whoever out on it again, so go wander the world map for another 10 days before returning to the castle. The quest is another failure, so go talk to him in the corridor and ask him to make windows for you, and you recruit him.

**Starbearers 15/108 Tongatihi**

c. All that's left is the mission of the third consort, Kureyah, who wants you to meet her at the Prince's Palace in El-Qaral, so head there to be asked to excort her to Salsabil. Head to Mislato River and on the eastern most screen, head to the southwest across an area previously blocked to find a chest with a Silver Spear, then head south to the next screen. Continue south until you can go east for a chest with a Bronze Axe, then contine along the path south, east, and north (hugging the far east wall) to get another chest, with an Iron Greatsword, then continue west, northm and east to the next screen. Continue heading along the ath here for another scene and unique monster fight, then head west and south for a chest with 5000 potch, then go back and follow the eastern bank to the world map, and enter Salsabil. You have to go to the Viceroy's Mansion first, so go ahead and do that then feel free to shop and explore the town. When you're done, head to the inn for the night. In the morning, get Kureyah and escort her back to El-Qaral and the Prince's Palace.

Now that all the consort missions are done, you're warned of an attack on your castle, so head back there now. When you reach the entrance hall, a scene plays out. Go ahead and save now, then head upstairs to the great hall. You don't have enough people to fill 3 parties, so put Selen with Jale, your strongest characters with the Hero, and the rest with Logan. Once your 3 fights are over, go turn in all your missions to Moana and get another scene. Before continuing, we have another quest that will help us recruit some characters, Find Somebody, so go ahead and do it, heading to Salsabil to talk to Morrin in the back of the inn. When you're done talking to her, you'll be back at your castle automatically. Head up to the great hall to prepare for the run on Ladzaa. You have to take cougar with you, so pick the rest of your party based on that. When you have control again, you're in the Mislato River about halfway to Ladzaa so follow the path there, noting that there are now some much stronger enemies (the Cynas units) than the rest here, but sadly these are scripted fights and you can't roam about to level up on them. On the next screen, after a scene, you get into another uwinable fight. After another scene, you're back in the great hall of your castle. Turn in your mission to Moana, and then head south for a scene, then to the Gateway for another. Leave the Gateway for another scene, then head up to the great hall for the plan. You'll need to bring Liu and Cougar along, so you only have one slot open for someone else. Leave for another scene, and then exit your castle through the north (front entrance side) for a scene on the world map to recruit another star, Gadburg.

**Starbearers 16/108 Gadburg**

Feel free to head back into your castle to check out Gadburg's wares and upgrade your equipment for your hero (he's unlikely to have much for the rest of your party aside from armor for the non-mages for now). The way to increase his inventory is to make a lot of money trading goods, but for now there's not too many places to do proper trade, so head to Grayridge's Chapter Hall for another scene with Luvais needed for recruiting him later. Once you're done there and ready to continue, leave Grayridge and go to Gineh Valley to the west.
Follow the path to the intersection then head west to the next screen for a chest with Mixed Herbs. Go back to the intersection and take the other path to another intersection, following this one to the southeast, following a bit of a winding path to a chest with Peach Juice. Head back to the intersection and take the other path to the next screen. Take the southern path all the way west to the next screen. Head straight west ignoring the intersections to get a chest with Healing Incense. Head north and then east to the next screen for a chest with Truffle Stew. Head back to the last screen and continue west, hugging the north wall, to reach the world map.
Head to Tehah Village. You need to head to the Plaza to advance the story, but this is a good time to run around and do some trading now that you have 4 cities open to you, and Tehah buys a lot of things for almost twice the price, so make some money and improve Gadburg's inventory (and your party's equipment) now if you like. You can also talk to the aged villager (Sotah) in the residence here about all kinds of things, but it's really just review of stuff you've learned. Ask to see his stuff 4 times and then ask him to join you. He won't for now, but you've already started the recruitment. When you're ready to advance the story, head to the plaza for a scene. When you leave this screen, you'll have another scene with Luvais. Head back to your castle for a scene and a fight and you recruit him. Grab the quest "Demon Hunting in Gineh" from Moana and head to Gineh from the Tehah side. Head all the way south for a scene, then west to the next screen and talk to the man, Muro, and ask him to join you. He does.

**Starbearers 18/108 Luvais/Muro**

Now that some more recruiting is out of the way, continue on to the Ch'olui Mountains. Follow the northwest path at the intersection, head east and then immediately west for a chest with a Fur Cape. Head back and take the northeastern path to the next screen for a scene. Take the northeast path to another screen. Continue along the path and you'll see a chest just to the south with Ch'olui Cabbage in it. Head north from the intersection for a scene in front of a hut, then head west for a chest with Janam Potato. Now head back to the previous screen and take the southwestern path at the intersection, heading west at the intersection right after, then south to the next screen. Go north and then east for a Wool Hat. Now head back west on the southern path, and keep going west until the next screen. Follow the path until you get a scene, and then go the route Dogha tells you (north) for another scene, then continue west to the next screen. Follow the path west to get Fur Shoes, then go south at the intersection and go east to the next screen for a Wool Robe. Head back and go west and south for a scene, then exit the mountains to the world map and head west to Nainenesis.
After a scene at the entrance, go to Entry for another, then head west for another. Head to the temple for another scene. Leave the temple and you finally have full access to the town. Nimni has joined your party, so equip him decently, and reorganize your party formation. Since you no longer have a healer (except for the Hero who is better suited to dealing damage), make sure you have plenty of medicine. Also, you no longer have your support character, so feel free to head back to your castle to get them back (I recommend using Erin), maybe even use this time for some trading and improving gear of your characters.
When you're ready to continue, leave town and head to the next dungeon, the Coastal Cave. Head straight north for another scene and the first set of Beads of the Priestess. Continue north and then east at the intersection, heading south at the next one. Head north for a Seashell Shield, then all the way back to the initial intersection right after you got the beads. Head north and then west, going south at the next intersection and continuing all the way south for another chest with a Trident. Head back to the main path and go north. You find yourself in a room with five geysers in an arrowhead shape. The top one (middle) leads ahead, but two of the geysers lead to chests. The far left one leads to a chest with 30000 potch if you head west. Go back to the geysers and take the second from the right has a chest with a Shell Backplate if you take the east path. Now take that middle geyser and head north to the next screen.
Head east at the first intersection for a chest with Adept's Shoes. Then go back and continue all the way north for a cest with Mystic Medicine inside. Now go back to the last intersection and head west, following the path to the next screen. Continue east to the next screen for a scene and a boss fight. Since you have no healers and Nimni can't do much damage or use marks, use him to heal with items while the others use their best offensive marks. After the fight, keep heading east for another scene where you gain Cerulean Flux. If your hero hasn't been using swords already, equip him with a pair now for improved damage and get ready for another boss fight (thankfully your HP and Mana are restored to full). Head back out of the room and fight, using the Hero as your primary damage dealer, with Nimni as healing once again. This fight is a lot easier than you expect and it should only take a couple rounds. Afterward, you have to walk all the way out of the Caves, so do so and head back to Naineneis and the Temple. After the scene, Nimni leaves your party and heads for your castle. As you leave, another scene occurs, then head back to your castle for another scene and two new recruits (Nomno doesn't officially join you until later when he wakes up).

**Starbearers 20/108 Nimni, Nemne**

Before heading to the great hall, it's time to recruit some more people. Head back to Naineneis and in the inn you should see a familiar man standing just inside the door way, the gambler Semias. Talk to him and he calls off the bet from before, and then leaves. Head back to your castle to find him in the tavern. Talk to him and he joins. Now head to Tehah and talk to the innkeeper (the woman on the far left), she should mention their special stew. Eat it and see a scene with the chef. Head back to your castle and now there should be a quest for you, Find the Chef, and your party decides to ask Asad for more details. Go to El-Qaral and find him in the Imperial Plaza. After talking to Asad, head back to Tehah and talk to the innkeeper. Go to the Ch'olui Mountains and make your way back to the sign (the spot where you first ran into the kid who told you to go see Dogha). From here head west and north to get a scene, where you fight 3 Janam Soldiers (one a mage) as Wustum, after which he joins you. There's a few quests available to work on to help with recruiting later, might as well do them now too. Start with Order Approaches Naineneis, which sends you and Nimni straight back to Naineneis and then the caves for some scenes. Afterwards return to your castle and report the quest. Accept Sorry to Keep Bugging You! You automatically end up fighting the renegade after a scene, and it's an easy fight (Marica? doesn't help and just kills hime once you've done enough damage). Head back to your castle and turn in the quest. Now is also a good time to go about doing some more trading, as well as taking your new characters out and leveling them (especially the Porpos who you will need soon), as well as getting them properly geared.
When you're ready to advance, head upstairs to the great hall for a scene, and then you get to pick your two teams. The hero's party must have cougar and the other party must have the 3 Porpos-kin, so pick whoever else you want for your other positions, but neither team can have Liu or Hotupa. Once you're set and done, head to El-Qaral and see the Mage Lord. After the scene, make your way to the Blade's Outpost for another scene, then go back to the Imperial Plaza and tell Asad you're ready. You find yourself once again on the path in front of Ladzaa so make your way there and across the bridge until you get a scene, a scripted fight, and then another unwinable fight against the same pair from before. After a scene, your Porpos team has to fight a group of three. After another scene, everyone but Cougar leaves you, and need to go west to the next room, and the Gateway will be in the southwest corner. Watch the scene and then tell Asad you're ready, watch another scene, then head west. Watch another scene, head back east and near the exit you'll get another scene. No matter what you choose, the result will be the same, so head east over the bridge and watch the next scene. Now you must put together a party including Liu and Asad, so pick a strong melee person, and then make your way to the inn in El-Qaral. Talking to the innkeeper advances the story, and the choice of what to do is obvious (the first one). As you try to leave the inn, you're forced to pick two parties, one lead by Asad, the other by the hero. Make sure the hero's party is the stronger of the two. Head to the arcane academy and make your way downstairs and into the back corner of the basement. Make your way back up and fight the rock dragon again when you reach the appropriate room. Afterwards, you get a scene, leaving gives another, so head to the Prince's Palace for a third. Leave town and you'll arrive in Mislato River, for yet another scene (again, the choice here is obvious), followed by a few fairly easy fights. After another series of scenes, you have control again and are at the save point, so make your way west for another series of scenes.

**Starbearers 24/108 Chrodechild, Asad, Meruvis, Roberto**

You're free to explore, so leave the great hall, receive another scene, then head down a floor and to the east for another scene, and now Manaril and Mubal join you officially.

**Starbearers 26/108 Manaril, Mubal**

Head to the roof for a scene suggesting you go pay the inventor in Grayridge a visit. Head to the tavern and go west through the door at the top of the stairs for another scene and a change of clothes Go back to the tavern and take the other door and keep going west until you reach the farm and Yadima should be here now if you kept talking to him earlier. Talk to him again, he still won't join you but you're getting close. Make your way to the entrance hall for another scene (it's a lot closer than you think, just head south from the trading post and you're in the plaza), then head to the Gateway for another. Head up to the Great Hall for another scene, then put together a party of whoever you like. Before advancing the story again, it's time for more quests and recruitment. Go talk to Moana to turn in your missions, accept Get Rid of the Citro Monster, and fight the creature for a scene after. You're in the Flesaria Forest Ruins (from way back at the beginning of the game), so make your way back to the castle for another scene, and recruit Zenoa (and get the Tablet of the Promise). Go turn in your quest, and make your way to the dining hall to talk to Nomno (he's sleeping on a bench). Head up to the Porpos room (west exit on third floor) and talk to Nemne for another scene. Head back to the dining hall and talk to Wustum for another scene and finally recruit Nomno.

**Starbearers 28/108 Zenoa, Nomno**

Go back to Moana and get the quest Plowin' The Field, which is a dispatch quest, so send 4 of your strongest (physical attack) characters like Jale, Muro, Selen, etc. They need at least 110, maybe 125, so if they're not strong enough, get them better equipment. Also accept Find Icas, and send a party of "cute" or "pretty" girls like Sisuca, Zenoa, Manaril, Marica (Selen does not work here). In both cases, you'll know if you've got the right characters if they sound confident when you pick them. Go wander the world map for a week and come back to your castle to turn in the quests. Before accepting another, go talk to Yadima at the farm to have im officially join you. Go back to Moana and accept the Bring Icas to Me quest and Icas joins you, and after a scene, a fight, and another scene, Morrin and Yovel join you as well. Turn in the quest to Moana and accept Special Proposal. Say yes and Geschutz, Minen, and Buchse join you. Go back to your castle (receiving a scene as you arrive) and put Geschutz and/or Minen in your party and head to Citro's town square. Talk to the silver haired man there and Khemia joins you.

**Starbearers 36/108 Yadima, Icas, Morrin, Yovel, Geschutz, Minen, Buchse, Khemia**

Go back to the castle and put Asad in your party and head to Mislato River and after a scene Hafin joins you. Head to Tehah for a scene (this is part of the mission you're on) and talk to Sotah in the residence and now he'll join you. Head to the plaza and talk to Nhazu, then leave the village and head to the Ch'olui Mountains. Head west then east twice (making your way back to the sign again). Head west at the large open area to go to the next screen and continue going west for a bit of dialogue and a chest with Wtr Dragon Claws. Head all the way back down the mountain and speak with Nhazu in Tehah. After a scene, you find yourself in front of Dogha's hut, so make your way back down the mountain again and head to your castle and accept Search for Nhazu! When you have control again, head south until you find him and get more scenes. Head back to your castle and Nhazu joins. Go talk to Dogha at the rear entrance and he joins as well. Head back to Ch'olui Mountains again and all the way up to the peak (the spot where you got the Wtr Dragon Claws) for a scene, and you find yourself in the plains. Exit and go back to the castle to accept the quest Find My Fated Lover. Take all female characters out of your party and head up to the hero's room (4th floor east exit) for another scene. Put a female in your party and exit the castle on foot, pick the 2nd option, and after the scene is done, turn around and head back into your room, and pick the 2nd choice and she joins. One last one in Ch'olui for now. Turn in your quests and accept Get Rid of the Snow Fairy. Make sure Dogha is not in your party and head up to his hut and take the northwest path from it to find a woman. Talk to her and see what looks like a fight but she just uses a spell on one member then it's done. Go back to your castle, talk to Dogha, and then head back to the spot where she was and select the dialogue option Dogha told you to say (the 3rd option) then ask her to join you and she will.

**Starbearers 42/108 Hafin, Sotah, Nhazu, Dogha, Maybelle, Sphiel**

Go back to your castle and turn in any quests you have left, accept Mass Production of Guns, and send your gun nuts all out on it and rest at the inn (Erin) and turn it in again. Accept Chancellor's Age and send a team (I picked Luvais and some other mages since it's a gossip mission), and go do something for 8 days. Turn it in then accept "Sisuca and Nemne?" using the same party and do something for 3 days. Turn it in, and then when you're ready to advance the plot, head to the Marsinah Plains, which is an overhead map view much like Citro Plains. After a bit of wandering you'll have a boss fight against a boar, then after a scene head west to Cragbark, where you'll find yourself in the town square after a scene. When you're done exploring and shopping, head to the inn for a scene, leave for another, and then go to the House of the King for another, then head back to the inn, for more scenes and then a boss fight (you actually have to beat them). After a few more scenes you'll be on the world map, pick the second option, and go back to the castle and talk to Moana. Before heading to the Great Hall, time for some more recruitment. Also not, that though it's never mentioned, Neira has now officially joined you.

**Starbearers 43/108 Neira**

Head to Grayridge mine and talk to the inventor, pick the 2nd option, go back to your castle, and after the scene, make your way to Naineneis to get the pump from the open chest in trading post (and get a scene with a familiar face as you enter the city). While here, you'll see a pair of familiar faces, so talk to them before seeing a scene at the entry then heading back to your castle (getting another scene with the familiar face) and giving the pump to Balsam and Yod on the 4th floor. It's going to take 10 days, so go talk to Moana for the quest Make My Son A Man. Head to your tavern and take the exit up the stairs to find Rekareka, to complete the quest. Go back to Moana and accept I Need Laggart Pelts, sending anyone. This will take 5 days, and it's still 10 days for Balsam, so pass the time then go check in with Moana, and Rekareka and Tuhululu join you. Go talk to Balsam on the 4th floor and both he and Yod joing you. Take the lift down to the cellar, then go back up to Erin and put Mubal in your party (take a full party) and go to the residence in Salsabil and talk to the old woman, take the second option when presented with it, and enjoy a fight. After the fight, Nuzhat joins. Put Asad in your party, exit the castle on foot, then re-enter for a scene. Asad leaves your party for a few days, so put someone else in your party, talk to Moana and accept the quest Porpos Abducted, and after a few scenes, get into a fight, and then after a few more scenes, Numnu joins you. Head back to Coastal Cave and take the central geyser up and go up until the first intersection. Go west and follow the path north to get the Godspeed Talisman, equip it on a party member you always use (maybe the hero), and head back to the main path and continue all the way back until you reach a chest with a Lazuli Spear. Head back to the geyser and find yourself on the 2nd floor (you were on the 3rd). Head straight back until you can go west, then follow that path until you meet the pirates again. Speak to them for a scene and another fight against the same group you fought for Numnu. Follow the same strategy as before, and you should be fine. After the fight, all three join you. Make your way out of the cave and back to your castle.

**Starbearers 52/108 Rekareka, Tuhululu, Balsam, Yod, Nuzhat, Numnu, Dromon, Felecca, Xebec**

Speaking of the video clip in the beginning of whats to be a glimpse of the final battle, maybe I'm the only one who notices, but praticulary Liu do you notice hes wearing a different outfit than what he normaly wears, I think I remember him wearing some kind of black vest-jacket type of thing. So my question is if you use the four main characters at the end does that video replay it self or anything?

Shoosh, no spoilers, I'm writing this along with my first play through. Didn't play any tonight though, just did some leveling up earlier while waiting at an appointment. I'll try some more tomorrow. And is there a way we can get these additional messages past the walkthrough deleted until after I finish it, cause it will likely take 2 or 3 posts in length, just like my S4 guide did.

Alright, that should be enough space saved. I'm back and working on this again, but making it spoiler free, and I'll try to include some other stuff, like costs of items and what stores have what in stock (and when the stock changes), and so on.
