Re: [Guide] Character Stats

Post by Ellyos »

Hello everybody, I've completed the stat growth chart from lv1 to 60 for all characters.
(After the level 60 is not interesting. HP/MP seem to gain 2 by level, when other stats seem to gain 0.5 by level for any rank)
As stated by Antimatzist, there are 9 ranks for stats and HP/MP. I freely named them E, D, C, B-, B, B+, A, A+, S.
This naming has some sense for me, so let me explain :
* C, D, E are the 3 lowest values.
* B-, B, B+ have the same letter because they are the middle columns, and they're nice to easily detect average stats.
* A, A+ have the same letter because HP/MP progression after the level 30 is the same for them.
* S is just the best value.

First, you can find the Excel file there : Stat growth chart for all characters from level 1 to 60
Then, if you don't care about .xls file, there are 3 .jpg you can find there :

First pic : Rank progression from level 1 to 60, and character starting level.

You'll find some blank at the beginning of the list. That's because no chararacter has this rank at this level.
For example, Muro is the lowest level character with Rank E in HP/MP progression, that's why the column starts at level 12.

Second pic : Characters Ranks for all stats (even for Dirk, Marica?, Cougar and Atrie)

Ranks have color to detect perfect (red), good (green) and bad (blue) values.
You'll see 8 values A/A+. That's because those characters start at level 30+, so I can't determine which rank they have. Anyway, that's not important, the progression is the same.

Third pic : Characters by rank for each stat

This image list who are the best or the worst characters for a stat.

Thank you so much! I got halfway through the game and the stats and never bothered finishing it. This is cool. :)

Somehow, stat-wise, Sieg reminds me of Riou and Lazlo, while Marica reminds me of Kika.

Well, I'd say almost all RPGs heroes have this archetype.
Good Melee Fighter with high : HP, Attack, Counter/Dodge rate and Critical Hit rate.
+ Nice Speed and Defense.
And even in magical stats, they have decent values.

Often, they also have a way to make fights easier. Usually some healing capacity, even if weak. Tir has even a better tool with "instant kill".

Since the hero is (usually) an unremovable character, he needs to fill any role your team is lacking.

Suikoden staple. Not your good old "Swordsman Hero, Healer / Mage Love Interest" type of game. Among the non-ST heroes, only Lazlo is the Swordsman. The rest are something like the Monk class, what with their blunt weapons. Hugo is the Fragile Speedster among the heroes.

Well Suikoden III is a bit different since there is not only one hero.
Moreover, all of them have sword (well it's a curved long knife for Hugo).

Chris is a tank and she doesn't excel in magic. But still, she can heal.
Hugo, like you said, is built on Speed ability + a decent magical power. Else, he's not really strong in HP or attack power.
Geddoe is probably the one which correspond to the hero archetype.
Thomas... well, it's Thomas.

I wish for a magician hero in Suikoden to change... It could make interesting duels.

Ellyos, your files are no longer available. Can you maybe upload them directly in the board softqare via attachment and can this info be included on the main page?
