What is the status of the scanslations? Anyone know?

Also, wasnt there Suikoden 1 and 2 manga novels already, before these? Weren't the Soul Eater novels official Suikoden manga? I get confused with manga, anime, official stuff and doujin all the time so could someone please elaborate?

Novels and manga/comics are two different media actually. The novel adaptations for these game have been released a long time ago, but the comics are more recent. Unfortunately it seems the latter are now on hiatus, and would not/never complete the whole plot.

Okay, that makes more sense now. Thanks

Wait, so the publishers themselves are no longer releasing these comics? That kinda sucks. Whats the reason for that? Also, how far did they get through the story?

Suikoden V manga covers all the beginning until the prince escape from castle during attack. So until he starts to act by himself.
The manga is classic but the prologue is well related. As incomplete story, this event was probably the best one to choose.

I think that covering only the prologue was voluntary and it wasn't planned to relate the complete story.

Anyway, as for Suikoden I & II, how many tomes were released ?

This sucks lol what is the reason for all this?

Also, I noticed on konamistyle that they only sell the Castle Of Dawn series books 1 and 2. I have seen the scanslations for 4 (maybe 5?) though. Anyone know why they only sell 2 of them?

You mean those ones : http://www.mangafox.com/manga/gensou_su ... _no_shiro/
If yes, they are the ones I'm talking about.

I don't know why only 2 volumes (on 4) are in sell. I had the chance to have them released in french.

There is another Suikoden V series like this one : http://www.mangafox.com/manga/gensou_su ... anthology/
But that's only humoristic strips or short stories about Suikoden V characters. Fun, but not really interesting.

Suikoden I comic series has 2 volumes. Suikoden II has 1, and Suikoden V has 4.

It's too bad that they decided against completing these plots in a similar vein as Suikoden III adaptation. They should have known that mobile phone is not a sustainable platform for these things.

No, I have Suikoden I volume 2 right here and it only covers a bit longer of meeting Odessa... I think it should have been some sales or editorial problems, because Yu Hijikata seemed to be quite happy of drawing Suikoden stories. Its a shame because I was already liking it a lot : (
