It take 3 to 5 weeks to ship it though :(

I'm thinking about getting the Suikoden V Character Artbook, but I'm getting a little confused with all the different version people seem to be talking about.

I found this one at Akadot Retail. This artbook seems to be the only Suikoden V artbook that is available for sale that i can find.

I'm under the impression at the moment that this artbook contains this sort of art, meaning that as well as the official art, you get the concept art as well.

Can you tell me if this information is correct? If i'm wrong, could you link me to a picture of what is actually in this artbook, just so i know what i'm buying?

The scan you linked to is not from the artbook found on Akadot Retail. The artbook on Akadot Retail has full body artwork of all the stars without the concept art, 7 pages of special artworks similar to the cover, the countdown illustrations, 13 pages of concept art and one page of locations/towns. Here is one of 13 pages of concept art: http://s25.photobucket.com/albums/c69/b ... ok_170.jpg

This scan is from the artbook given as part of the limited edition set released in Japan.

GAH!, I posted a thread for my question before seeing this  , hope i don't get in trouble, Okie, I'v ordered this book http://www.otaku.com/cgi-bin/itemview.asp?itemid=70907z, but now I'm not sure, I don't mind if it hasn't got concept art, what i want is big clear art work of each character, Including non stars of destiny and at least most of the alterntive portraits, please help, while i still have time to cancel, also is this book http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-m0- ... -1d34.html the same as this book http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-m0- ... -1d35.html

The first book, the 108 Stars book, as the name states, has the full body character arts of the 108 Stars of Destiny and other important characters. Concept arts are limited, and I don't see any alternative portraits. Promotional artworks are included though. If you are aiming for an artbook though, this is the next best source.

The best for artwork is of course that limited edition artbook that came with the Japanese LE.

The other two books on Play-Asia that you linked there are two of the complete guidebooks produced for Suikoden V. Pages are smaller, but the books are much thicker than the artbook; naturally because they contain plenty of words and tables to help you out with playing the game. Not recommended, if all you want are artworks.

Looks like the table of contents for the revised Encyclopaedia has been revealed.

About 1040 pages, not bad. But looks as if they are separating the individual entries by games?

Wow, that is really something. If only they would release a translation version. Not going to happen though. It looks impressive nonetheless.

Hi there,

Even if it's in japanese, I'm pretty much interested in this encyclopedia, I will at least have the artworks to look at. Like EternalOnslaught said, it's not like there is much chance for it to be released elsewhere anyway.
Problem is, I don't understand japanese very well, and I can't even find out how to order the book, and more importantly if it's possible to order from outside Japan?

Thanks in advance

Haven't seen it included on Amazon yet, but once it's there, you should be able to order from them and get it delivered to locations outside Japan.
