Although Hugo's outfit was very Karayan, so I'll just say the Hero from 1,2 and 4 had BAD outfits.

I think The Destroyers were probably the best dressed group of people ever in the series, so far.

Luc's outfit was very well done compared to his past outfits and I think it showed his maturity(waits for comments)

Sarah's outfit was very fitting for her since she was very pale and had the white hair. I think the blue complimented her greatly!

Albert reminded me of Seed in S2 alot. Albert was very well dressed and you could tell he was the "smart leader" of the group.

Yuber IMO is by far the best dressed character in the series.. The Black suit complimented his attitude perfectly and the hat made it that much more menacing. Sure his armor was great and all, but i think he really upped his game with this one.

Yes, I agreed with you bro, luc's oufit is great, i mean the color,it's just fit with the rune color
(since wind rune is green color) the hair is also change from the previous suikoden series,
maybe Murayama want to show the fans the different of what he become in the suiko3,more mysteries, more darker & more adult.. And also the expression, that showed that he is more serious, not like sasarai always have happy face..

Yuber is also outstanding,i like the hat & of course the sword that he like to swing it :)

And don't forget The Flame Champion, his outfit is also outstanding.

For the longest time I thought the FC was Tir from S1... They looked so similar.

I think all heroes from suikoden have a similar colors from the costume, they have red colors in their costumes, except lazlo of course..

yeah i thought so too, because they both have a same weapon, a stick kinda thing.

Lazlo has red too, mainly in the trim of his sleeves and jacket, plus the headband. Though it is true that he doesn't have nearly as much as the others. I still find it odd that someone from an island would wear pretty much all black.

Personally, I really loved how the desert people in Tierkreis dressed. The blends of yellow and purple was great and it really looked nice with their skin and hair color.

alright, so, I just finished suikoden 4 for the first time and I think I need to amend my comments some:
Worst Dressed Overall: Has to go to Suikoden 4. This game really seemed torn between assaulting one's senses with the crowd of characters who appear to be waiting for the Jimmy Buffett concert to start (still cant look at Lino without humming a few lines of wasted away again in marguritaville) and starving one's senses with an amazing lack of detail (Trishtan, Flare, Sigurd...the list goes on...and on and on...) and if that wasn't bad enough it looks as though someone went around collecting all of my homework from third grade and looking at the various weapons pictured in the margins muttering "Brilliant...just brilliant..." to themselves over and over, then got a job working for konami. Lazlo kind of sums up everything with his "Emo beachwear" look and psudo-prince valiant hairdo. And was it just me or did the Obel guards look like prophylactics with polearms? I've seen porn with a better sense of costume design than this game.
Best Dressed Overall: I have to admit Suikoden 5. I didn't like it at first. I thought it was too effeminate for many of the more masculine characters and so on, but the more I got to playing, and discussing, the game the more I came to understand that here we have a kingdom which largely associates femininity with strength and authority, so why wouldn't such concepts show through in their clothing design? Moreover, these elements seem to be missing from characters not from Falena like Dinn or Belcoot (Yes I know Belcoot was originally from Falena, but he seems more closely tied to Kanakan considering everyone looks at him and thinks that's where he's from.) Then you have the Godwins with their stuffy fascist style designs mucking everything up for our heroes. I seem to catch something new in the design of the game each time I look at it. And I must admit that's what good design is all about. Still think Sialeeds looks like a dork though.
Still waiting for that daring piece of fan art with Zahak and Galleon sharing eyeliner in the bathroom...

Everything you said about IV made me laugh, but the quoted part certainly stood out :D "Emo beachwear" is not only a complete oxymoron, but the absolute truth... it blows my mind. I never noticed the lack of detail in some of the costumes until you pointed it out, but Flare's outfit always bothered me but it's just not... "princessy." Hell, her dad had more princess going on in his look, at least he was wearing pink. Now I have Margaritaville stuck in my head. Also, I may have mentioned this somewhere else but the Razril trainee uniforms... way to assault the player's senses immediately after beginning the game. Some of them have those pointy prophylactic hats as well.

"Emo beachwear" made me eject coffee from my mouth due to laughter! It is indeed the truth.
