A young noble from the Halnish Family in Ritterschild, Tsaubern is a man with an affinity for high places. He first meets the Prince in Salsabil, and, soon after, places a request with the company to officially meet him. The Hero takes him to the roof of the castle, and Tsaubern tells him of the difficulties with the Order in his homeland. He further asks to touch the Chronicle, to see if he is a Starbearer. The Hero agrees, and Tsaubern joins the Company.

Tsaubern is acquainted with the Belfar Agency, and knows of Minen’s aristocratic background. He is also heavily inquisitive into the nature of the Empire of the North Star, and tries to pry into Yula’s background, believing her to be War Priestess Mayula. Yula denies these claims, and makes hints as to Tsaubern’s background, which Tsaubern himself denies. He is also heavily interested in Yomi’s dances, as many performers of such dances are indeed heavily trained fighters.

Tsaubern speculates as to the nature of the One King’s world, and thinks the happy dreams shown were designed to make the people experiencing them lose the desire to fight. After the war ends, he returns to Ritterschild, where he is seen at a gathering of many Ritterschild nobles. - Matt620
