No Viki. No mermaids either. As a replacement for the quintet, they gave us an exclusive group of generic mercenaries instead (captain, blue, red and yellow).

Gretchen joins you as per King of Obel's request. She's an automatic recruit, but if I'm not mistaken, she's not a story VIP.

it wouldnt make sense for viki to be there, since she teleported to another location at the end of suikoden 4

thank god konami is sticking to the story line!

well I dont remember jeanes ending in s4, but she dosent teleport in between time, so she could've left to go build a rune shop in kooluk or something

it deffinetley would be impossible for vicky to be there, but jeane has no real reason why she shouldnt be in Rhapsodia

It's nice and refreshing not to have Viki in a Suikoden game, IMO. Even though I would have imagined she'd have had a good role in an SRPG, just as an example, she could use her powers to transport a character(s) from one square of the screen to another, allowing more strategic maneuvers.

i sortof agree. it might seem a little strange at first though. so no teleporting? hmmm.

oh! ok i have another question:
since tristan and jeremy are recruitable, is travis in there too?
i thought maybe.. because they had a unite attack.
thats not a good enough reason i guess.
