Yes, but Estela isn't the the tenkai star. I think that the entire point of the discussion, is that in all prevous suikoden games the tenkai star always had a true rune. why is it that Thomas dosn't?
Riou dosn't spend his time after the war alone, he has Jowey and Nanami.
was Thomas originally to have more purpose...

maybe his proficiency in wind magic was kinda a give away.....but then again theyd probably wouldve given him an S wouldn't them. thomas' stats do seem similar to the wind rune's spells, neither specialises in anything but both are generally good at everything

Re:
what are you talking about Thomas having good affinities with Lightning and Water??? He can only reach C in both of those.ShardStar wrote:Yes Thomas has A+ in Wind Magic but he also has it in Lighting and Water as well. Apparently Thomas is stronger then even I had originaly thought, all you have to do is build up his abilities. I just mistook Ernies "It won't be easy..." to mean a low rank rather then high.
my point is definitely he is the Tenkai Star but has such an insignificant role and signs leading me to believe he may have been the "fifth man" to complete the (new) True Elemental Rune bearers. Estella being a powerful magician has NOTHING to do with this discussion.

Both Riou and the Prince didn't bear a true rune in their games, canonically speaking.Lino84 wrote:Yes, but Estela isn't the the tenkai star. I think that the entire point of the discussion, is that in all prevous suikoden games the tenkai star always had a true rune. why is it that Thomas dosn't?

Agreed, Sarah is perhaps my absolute favorite Suikoden character. From the second I first saw her show up in III, I fell in love.LillyXChris wrote:I always thought Thomas to be the future True Wind Bearer. After few discussions with my own suikoden fans, we all agreed that Thomas SHOULD have more use in S3.
I only wished that Sarah didn't die!!!! I am so mad at this point. Why'd they have to kill Sarah off? She could have been Thomas' guide to finding the True Wind Rune.
Well, in MY universe, Sarah's not dead. SUE ME IF IT'S WRONG!!
Anyways, I loved Thomas' role in the manga. I think his two chapters in III were good, but I would've liked to see more plot-involvement for him in chapters 4 and 5. They should've had him in the strategy room with everyone asking questions and learning more about the politics and stuff.

Re: was Thomas originally to have more purpose...
I had thought about starting a thread recently about this since I've been playing through s3, but then I found this one. I didn't realize that Thomas got up to A+ in wind. Obviously he is the tenkai. What I noticed first was that he could use wind in battle, when he doesn't have a wind rune, or any evidence at the point of the first battle that he would use wind magic.
Now, about all the debate as to whether or not he got the True wind rune after Luc's death: it's obvious he doesn't. But if I'm reading KFCrispy's initial post correctly, that's not the point of the thread whatsoever. The discussion is about the game developers' initial intentions concerning Thomas' role in the war/game series, not if he got it later on. I don't think we'll ever know for sure. But for me, the added evidence that he can get to A+, as well as the fact that they intended a 3rd chapter for him, leads me to believe that there's at least a good chance that the developers' intended him to be the Wind Champion alongside the Flame, Thunder, and Water Champions.
Just for fun, I like to take Geddoe, Hugo, Chris, Sasarai, Thomas and Edge to the final battle. It's as if the four elemental runes and the Night rune are fighting to put the TWiR in more responsible hands.

Thomas just proves that the ability to draw the 108 stars together is separate from any ability to fight. Thomas was simply the Tenkai Star...he had the ability to bring together many people, and that's what he did.
