Not only in mythology, in suikoden series they are two diferent creatures.

Curiously enough, Sirens in Suikden look like mermaids in mithology :lol:

That's from SIII but in SV they appear in a similar too. Meanwhile mermaids in Suikoden world have legs.

Personally I'd like to see Mermaids returning too, as I'd like to see return any of the races in general, cause I'm not very fond of introducing thins just to forget it in the next settlement.

I'd like to see ducks again too, they were so badass.

Ducks were silly. OK, Sgt. Joe was awesome and their village was very pretty, but... Seriously, ducks?? What were the writers smoking?

Lol.. it didn't bothered me at first but really, it's silly. To include most major non-human race in S1 was like, a mythological plot but in S3, it's like a children's fairytale with Ducks and whatnot... Who said beavers are good too anyway?

The mermaids looked very odd to me. It wasn't the feet thing (I actually liked that). It was those weird things hanging from the sides of their heads. They're not fins. They're not ears. They're not hair. What are they? Some kind of other sensory organ?

And I wasn't a fan of Lilin's voice actress. She was fine in the cave scenes, but she had some creepy inflections in her speech when talking about the "Cat probably won't come back" and "I hate the Master." That might be more the director's fault, but I found her creepy.

Personally i found ducks much more better than mermaids. They were pretty cool and their village was one of the best places in Suikoden.

And yeah beavers sucked. Nay-kobolds on the other hand were pretty cute :mrgreen:

It's Disney, is a world where priest swant to burn alive dancers becuase she doesn't want to sleep with him, a world where warlock first ministers plots to enslave/marry 15 years old princess, a world where Queen ask for the beating heart of her 14 years old stepdaughter and when it fails decides to poison her, a world where even lions kill for a Crown.

Burned villages and assassinations? That's smalltime. XD

It looks like the Suikoden 4 Manga has added their own little homage to Arial's bra from Disney's The Little Mermaid. And it translates to: "Those are Michelle's".
