No plans for official non-japanese release?
It's been a while since the release of this game and i've heard no plans about Konami releasing it outside of Japan. Have I been living under a rock or is this one going to be doomed to Japan only until some awesome fans take on the *hopeful* task of translating it and releasing a rom?

Well, haven't heard Konami declining it, either (even though I'd say if they won't translate it, they just won't translate it)

Beyond Atlus and its late releases like Gungnir, no one else cares about the PSP anymore, right?

I thought Unchained Blades wasn't out yet. I guess they're currently done with the PSP.
Other than XSEED, NISA has a TBA game that they announced early this year, which would be Black Rock Shooter. MonkeyPaw also has Class of Heroes 2 coming out.

It seems someone wants to fan-translate it!? But doesn't look too good, yet, and doesn't seem to raise too much enthusiasm.

Well, some of the Suikoden games weren't released until a year later... maybe they just haven't done it yet but will soon?

I've looked it up, no Suikoden game so far had a release in the US more than a year after the initial release. And most of them took only half a year. If they haven't announced anything yet, I doubt they will announce it soon.hotspot wrote:Well, some of the Suikoden games weren't released until a year later... maybe they just haven't done it yet but will soon?

Even then, most international releases were announced before or right after the Japanese release date. We're six months past the Japanese release and Konami didn't even mention any intentions for localization when they announced their financial outlook for 2012's fiscal year. It's safe to say Konami doesn't want to touch this game.

Not releasing this game outside of Japan doesn't bother me one bit. After learning that it wasn't set in the main universe, I lost all interest in ever playing it.

Not surprised if Konami feels the same way about releasing the game outside Japan; why even bother?

I'm sure Konami feels the same way because Tierkreis sold horrendously outside of Japan, not because this PSP game doesn't represent what we want out of a Suikoden game.
It's entirely possible that the Genso Suikoden trademark application from a couple of years back was in anticipation for this game, but they let it die and have made no effort to revive it since then.
