Well, I have finished the game many times but a thought just occured, at the end after you fight Jowy and he joins your party, is there any way you can go anywhere? Like to your HQ without having the final scene take place with Shu?

No you cant go as far as the exit to either ways (exit to l' renouille and exit to kyaro).
What the Futch!!!!
