Saving the game

Is the last place you can save the game before you fight jowy or can you do it after your dual?

I believe the last place is before - the final ending triggers after the fight with Jowy - but if you're looking for the place to say to be able to carry it over into GS3, I believe you need to save at the final save point in L'Renouille before the Beast Rune.

As it has been awhile, I do not recall if you can get back into L'Renouille after defeating the Beast Rune to do another save, but for some reason I think you cannot.

Actually, you can go back after beating the Beast Rune. But you don't need to, because the save point can be anywhere. It just has to be AFTER defeating the Beast Rune, first.
