ESRB rates Suikoden II for PS3, PSP, Vita. Again.

Post by Raww Le Klueze »

Like the title says, ESRB have once again updated their site with a new listing of Suikoden II. Maybe this time it will actually happen?

The rating for Vita wasn't included last time, was it? I hope this is real now.

Think it was only PS3 last time.

Yep, I checked the screenshots from last time.

Back then, I already thought that was weird. So maybe it was like this: They wanted to release Suikoden II on PSN but messed up and didn't check it for Vita. Because it's a bureaucratic mess, they had to withdraw the rating and send in a new one.

.. which took 6 months.

Some Classics aren't officially compatible with Vita, rather you have to download it to a PS3 first and then onto the Vita. Suikoden is one of such games so I didn't find it that odd then, though it should have included PSP even then.

I hoped Konami finally learned it. When they released Symphony of the Night, they fixed this within one day - and Suikoden is still not Vita compatible (at least in the store, you can play it the way you describe it).

Sony is pretty likely planning to cut the PSP off from the PSN at some point in the near future. Last I heard, the US is about the only major market where it isn't already. Given that, it'd be pretty strange if they showed even unintentional favoritism toward it relative to the Vita.

Really? The PSP stopped selling this year in Japan so I thought it would still support PSN as wlel (interestingly, the PSP sold more in Japan than X1 and X360 combined :D)

Well, when I read that, it said, "Asia", which Sony may hold as distinct from the Japanese market. So maybe Japan still has access with PSPs as well.

Yuichi, the Konami twitch streamer, did mention that the idea of releasing Suikoden II on PSN was being considered some time ago but that Konami had dropped the ball on it.
