Hairdressers in Suikoden?

Post by Sasarai10 »

That's very surprising that they were no hairdressers in Suikoden games.

If they wre no hairdressers then all the characters would have long hair to the point that they'd be touching their butt :P

You do realize that you can cut your hair without going to a hairdresser?

Enter Toran castle and find the place where Milich is. If he or Esmeralda don't deal with it, Zen will.

Yeah but if you do it by yourself you'll get a bad haircut and some characters had really good haircuts

Sounds like a reasonable addition to a future title, if they decide to allow you to customise the character(s)' looks in-game.

I heard that Valeria and Genshu opened a barber shop called "Falcon & Swallow", but the only thing they guarantee is "no waiting time".

Characters in royal/noble/wealthy households probably have servants and stylists who cut their hair for them.
Eileen must go to a salon to get her hair all bouncy like that.
Maybe Lino has his hair cut by Setsu and probably uses wax to get it all spiky.
Eilie probably uses her knives to cut her own hair, and maybe shaves Bolgan's head for him.

I also always wondered why there are no accountants, no plumbers, and no dentists in Suikoden, actually.

And I assume the bath makers would have some skill with plumbing. The beavers in Suikoden 5 specialized in all kinds of handy work.

no toilets = no need for plumbers.

actually, they do! Isn't there some plumbing invovled in the recruitment of the bath beaver?

well we do get to explore sewers in some cities (Lenankamp, Stormfist, Two River) so they probably do have toilets as well.

In a medieval-ish setting, if you don't have barbers, you don't have dentists. Although, having the blacksmith extract your teeth would be just as good, and almost as hygienic. Better yet, have Viki or someone with some sort of Gate rune teleport them into the abyss.
