The end of an era ...
Never would I've thought to see the day when twinkies are no longer sold anywhere. Every shelf of every store you could imagine will be devoid of the that sugary, artificial yellow cake filled with a plethora of chemicals that make it last for aeons. I won't be part of the Hostess Treat Hunt, but I will memorialize THE twinkie by devouring one more. Please share your memorable or forgetable twinkie tales here. RIP Hostess Cakes

Since I'm from Germany, I don't know them, but I think they are still available in Canada?

Twinkies won't be going anywhere. The Hostess brand will be liquidating its assets and selling to the highest bidder. This means the the "Twinkie" brand will be bought by another company and sold under their name. Of course it won't be the same. I never was a big Twinkie fan, but I love Ding Dongs. I actually have a box of them now.

Well living in the UK, I have never really tried these, Ive seen single ones in shops for crazy prices.
Since this announcement, people have been panic buying Hostess products. My friend is the US sold a SINGLE pack of the snowballs(??) for $32!

I'm not too keen on Twinkies, very overrated snack. They just taste weird.

I don't really like them either. Little Debbie has a better selection if I'm in the mood for junky snack cakes. I do like raspberry Zingers though.

Hmm...
Well, as long as chocolate Hostess cupcakes don't go away, I won't be too bummed. But even though I was never a big Twinkie fan... yeah, it's weird knowing there's a possibility they may not exist anymore (outside of homemade recipes).

Once the company's assets are liquidated, some snack company will likely buy out the rights to the trademark, if not the actual recipe. This is the same reason we still sort of have GameShark even though Interact went belly-up.

Just looked those up and they sound yummy. Too bad all the good stuff disappears. I'll always miss Herbs & Spices salad dressing. Good times...
