Ivanov was the painter from Suikoden 1, Whom was kept in Milich's Castle.
Its no stretch of the imagination that Ivanov was a painter before Milich got ahold of him.....Another connection to the previous suikoden games perhaps?

Ivanov was already a very famous painter before Milich kidnapped him. In fact, his fame is the reason he was kidnapped. Milich wanted a painting of himself done and kidnapped Ivanov to paint it.

One thing that kinda bothers me is that when you finish his painting you're rewarded with a pair of binoculars. Does anyone know if these can be used anywhere?

Didn't you control the camera with the second controller? My memory isn't really good...gilgamesh31 wrote:In battle use the shoulder buttons to change the view, its something like R1 to zoom in or R2 to zoom out i cant recall which buttons exactly.

It's in the walkthrough on this site, just not the gameplay guides. It states you use the shoulder buttons of a second controller.
The only thing Suikoden lacks...is dinosaurs.
