Bugged and Improved Master Robe (lol XD)

It's only recently that a bug was found concerning the Master Robe, the Robe of Mist, and the Earth Armor.

Supposedly, it's like this:

Master Robe - hp + 10 per turn
Robe of Mist - Resist Water, repel + 10
Earth Armor - Resist Earth, anti-status

Because of that bug, it's now like this:

Master Robe - hp + 10 per turn, repel + 10, anti-status
Robe of Mist - Resist Water
Earth Armor - Resist Earth

Now that means:

1. Only Vest, Robe and Shield type characters can resist statuses (since Earth Shield also prevents status like the bugged Master Robe).
2. RoM is now obsolete except for the additional defense and Water resistance. Sure you lose out on defense and Water resistance with the Master Robe, but that's easily solved by a Water Amulet, but that means Robe-types can only resist 3-4 elements (Fire for males; Water, Wind, and Lightning for both males and females)

Robe of Mist = +47 DEF, water resistance only
Master Robe + Water Amulet = +39 DEF, water resistance, hp + 10 per turn, repel + 10, anti-status


RoM just got WTF-PWNED.

Since there is only one Silver Armor and only one Earth Shield in the game, choose your Shielder wisely.

SO, with the Master Robe bug, only Vest, Robe and Shield type characters can now resist statuses, other equipment type characters can't. Better keep this in mind when using mages and shielders.

What means :

" +16 repel @ level 60
+6 repel w/ Barrier @ 255 MDEF, +4 @ level 6"
u got repel % form lv alone?
Wizzard rune give also repel?
How u got 255 MAG ? With stone glitches?

You will only get 255 MAG from the stat stone glitch. The level 60 values stated above are Rina's average stats by that level.

Here's how the Magic Repel Build works:

You will need a Robe or Vest user with at least 2 free rune slots (1 for Barrier, 1 for Wizard or another Rune).

The following characters can use the full Magic Repel Build:

Chaco, Eilie, Gantetsu, Milie, Nanami, Nina, Rina, Sid, Yoshino

Let's have Rina as an example.

WITH STAT STONE GLITCH (255 MAG, 255 MDEF)
Equip Wizard Rune = 255 / 4 = 63.75 (round down) = 63, 63 + 255 = 318 MAG
Equip Barrier Rune = 318 / 10 = 31.8 (round down) = 31 %
Equip Master Robe = 31 + 10 = 41%
Equip Water Amulet x3 = 41 + 15 = 56%
Equip Cyclone Rune on Weapon = 56 + 15 = 71%

Total Magic Repel = 71% (maximum possible repel %)

WITHOUT STAT STONE GLITCH (160 MAG, 160 MDEF @ level 60)
Equip Wizard Rune = 160 / 4 = 40 = 40 + 160 = 200 MAG
Equip Barrier Rune = 200 / 10 = 20 %
Equip Master Robe = 20 + 10 = 30%
Equip Water Amulet x3 = 30 + 15 = 45%
Equip Cyclone Rune on Weapon = 45 + 15 = 60%

Total Magic Repel = 60%

Remember: YOU NEED TO EQUIP *BARRIER AND *WIZARD TOGETHER OR YOU WILL NOT GET ANY REPEL % FROM *WIZARD.
*Barrier gives Magic Repel from MAG, not *Wizard.

P.S. You actually need only one rune slot for *Barrier, you will only get less magic repel % but you still have a good chance of blocking enemy magic.
Even at 10-20% magic repel you can still block a fair amount of magic.

ok i get it, thanks, it's cool to see how your mage is immune to most spells ;D
I had tried this bulid on Luc and it is lot of fun, still it is a bit over the top but after Your post i consider to change 1 rune slot to Barrier and Robe of Mist to Master Robe.
Just this two and my Luc got 35% (wpn slot Mother Earth, 2 Runes slots BG, Cyclone, accesories winged boots and 1 usable item).
Thanks a lot it,s fun to try this bulid!

Only to patch the game with Pyriel's stuff. It's pretty well baked into the code; you're not going to find a workaround that makes it suddenly work as intended.
