Been a while since someone's put something on here..

Team - Flik Milich Viktor
Cleo Tir Rubi

Flik - Thunder
Milich - Cyclone
Viktor - Clone
Cleo - Rage
Rubi - Flowing.

I ended up finishing the battle with full HP. -=\ Rubi would heal every turn, except if only one person was hit - Then Milich would use Healing Wind.

For getting through the last parts of the game, I'd use
Kai Milich Tir
Cleo Kasumi Rubi

Tir and Kai can pretty much take out anything at this point with their MasterPupil combo and whatever they don't finish is taken out with the other 4. Same runes as above, Kai with Hazy, and Kasumi with Shrike. :\

Flik, Alen and Grenseal are regulars due to their pretty boy attack and their good magic. Valiera is also good to have due to her strong attack and actually being a long range character.
The other spot is changable though you do get stuck with Victor for the last battle. This leaves you with 4 short range characters. Here its either having Victor at the back and using the clone rune all the time which doesn't quite feel right unless you have him set up as a healer or have one of the pretty boys as they will always be using their unite or magic anyway.

Flik , Gen , Viktor
Tyr, Ruby, Clive

i like physician attack from Gen and clive
because Gen have the best physician attack

Flik = thunder
Gen = killer
Viktor = Rage <viktor's magic in suikoden is better from another suikoden>
Tyr = soul eater
Ruby = Flowing
Clive = holy

my final party list from suiko 1 and 2 doesn't change much..

suiko 1
front rows:pesmerga,viktor,flik (strong physical atkers)
back rows:Luc,Hero,Crowley(mage)

suiko 2
front rows:pesmerga,viktor,flik (strong physical atkers)
back rows:Luc,Hero 2,Mazus or Hero 1(mage)

i give pesmerga no extra rune..his counter rune is good enough for him..he's physical atk is insane..

viktor:double-beat..another strong physical atker..

flik:he's well balance..got good speed,magic,phy atk..

luc & crowley are the mage here..good for both healing and magic atk..

Hero is well..your hero...a well balance person..like flik..

Tir - Current level is 60

Equipment: Silver Hat, Dragon Armor, Earth Boots, and Guard Ring
Rune: Soul Eater
Rune Power: 8/6/5/2
Weapon Level: 15
Statistics: Power 161 Skill 191, Magic 155, Speed 177, Defense 149, Luck 162.

Tir is forced but i dont care. With the Soul Eater i was able to use him mostly for magic but i also used him for attacking.

Equipment: Silver Hat, Dragon Armor, Chaos Shield, Crimson Cape, and Earth Boots
Runes: Cyclone
Rune Power: 8/5/4/1

Fliks Cyclon rune also turned him in to a mage but i mostly used him for attacks.

Equipment: Horned Helmut, Dragon Armor, Steel Shield, Guard Ring x2

Weapon Level: 15
Statistics: Power 161, Skill 111, Magic 146, Speed 124, Defense 147, Luck 118

Allen was mostly a mage but after i ran out of affective magic he went into attacking.

Victor - Level 60
HP: 638
Equipment: Head Gear, Ninja Suit, and Guard Ring x2
Runes: Holy
Rune Power: 6/4/2/0
Weapon level: 16
Statistics: Power 175, Skill 84, Magic 106, Speed 141, Defense 176, Luck 120

I used Victor only for attackin. While i am walking around the Holy rune comes in handy.

Cleo - Level 60
HP: 625
Equipment: Silver Hat, Dragon Armor, and Guard ring x2
Runes: Flowing
Rune Power: 9/7/6/4
Weapon Level: 15
Statistics: Power 143, Skill 169, Magic 171, Speed 157, Defense 149, Luck 93

Cleo was my healer as you can see. Her magic is the best magic of the party.

Rubi - Level 60
HP: 632
Equipment: Silver Hat, Master Garb, Earth Boots, and Goldlet
Runes: Thunder
Rune Power: 8/7/5/3
Weapon Level: 14
Statistics: Power 144, Skill 171, Magic 163, Speed 165, Defense 127, Luck 42

The main mage of the party. I was introduced to her great abilitys by my brother (His username is Ur1bigolgoose, hes never posted). Her great magic made my level up her weapon only to 14.

My ending team was viktor, flik, and tir (the obvious ones), and then Hellion, Crowley, and Luc or Cleo (I can't remember, maybe it was another mage of that caliber).
Hellion, an awesome mage, had Mother Earth,
Flik, an ok mage, had Thunder,
Viktor, an attacker, had clone, for obvious reasons,
Crowley, the best mage ever, had the Rage rune,
Luc/Cleo/good mage had Flowing,
Sometimes rather than that last mage i would have Fu Su Lu with the double beat rune--Super attack!!!!!! You're all goin down!!!!!

My favourite party (not final party) for Suikoden was-

Name Rune Weapon

1.Flik Thunder Lightning x3
2.Tir Soul Eater Water x4
3.Sonya Flowing Earth x3
4.Tengaar Cyclone Fire x3
5.Cleo Rage Wind x3
6.Rubi Mother Earth Water x4

I like having one of each element. (All LV 61)

With my final party I just took out Tengaar and put in Viktor with a Killer crystal.

In Suikoden II, my favouirite party would be-

(all at level 65)

Let me explain why (I chose these people-

Suikoden-
Flik - Strong attacker, good with magic
Tir - Great all around, especially magic
Sonya - Good attacker with great magic.
Tengaar- Excellent magic and decent attack.
Cleo- Just a great character plus, a great fighter. (magic is great)
Rubi- Just like Tir, great all around.

Suikoden II-
Riou - Great all around (tech, attack, magic, speed)
Flik- Excels in attack and magic.
Tir- Just like Riou. (also nostalgic purposes.)
Clive- Excellent Tech! He can attack 6 enemies in one shot!
Tengaar- Great magic, decent attack.
Rina- As good as Tengaar, plus a Forehead Rune slot.

This is the party I used for the final battle against Barborsa.

Front Line :
Flik - Lvl 59 Hp : 681
Equipment : Silver Hat, Dragon Armour, Earth Shield, Goldlet, Guard Ring
Rune : Thunder - 8/6/4/2
Weapon : Odessa++ - Lvl16 (thunder rune piece 3)
ATK : 314 ARM : 266
Reasonings : Not reason of selecting him because he is a must-have for the final battle. Considering he's called the Blue Lightning, I gave him the Thunder Rune which he excels very much and imbue his weapon with thunder rune pieces. Works well as a melee but his real use is Thunder Gods and Balls of Lightning against the bosses.

Viktor - Lvl 59 Hp : 605
Equipment : Silver Hat, Dragon Armour, Guard Ring, Guard Ring
Rune : Clone
Weapon : King Dragon Sword - Lvl16
ATK : 359 ARM : 269
Reasonings : =.=" He forced his way into my party. But he is a good character anyways. He is my typical roar damage dude with his classic Clone Rune. This is classic Viktor to the max. LOL

Pesmerga - Lvl 59 Hp : 812

Equipment : Horned Helmet, Dragon Armour, Earth Shield, Power Ring,
Power Gloves
Rune : Double Beat
Weapon : King Crimson - Lvl16
ATK : 401 ARM : 309
Reasonings : He is the ultimate front roll tanker with good damage that comes with it. If you hadn't notice his high defense and high hp, he also packs a good punch to the enemies. Usually people would give him the Fury Rune, but considering his constant misses, I guess the Double Beat would remedy his only weakness.

Backline:
Tir - Lvl 59 Hp : 659
Equipment : Silver Hat, Master Garb, Crimson Cape, Earth Boots
Rune : Soul Eater - 8/6/5/2
Weapon : Heaven Fang Staff - Lvl16
ATK : 315 ARM : 271
Reasonings : He is the hero afterall , packed with well balance stats. His SoulEater is enough to handle bosses.

Kai - Lvl 59 Hp : 678
Equipment : Silver Hat, Taikioku Wear, Guard Ring, Guard Ring
Rune : Hazy
Weapon : Exorcist's Staff - Lvl16
ATK : 325 ARM : 241
Reasonings : Ok, the main reason I used him is his Unite with Tir. Stats wised, he is not that good, but he packs a quite a good punch. His ATK is higher than of Flik's. Together with his Unite, it saved plenty of time to reach the final boss. And guess what, the boss has 3 heads, and the United would be useful too. Other than that, he would be the side healer ( using items) when Tir is casting Judgment.

Crowley - Lvl59 Hp : 439
Equipment : Silver Hat, Master Robe, Emblem, Guard Ring
Rune : Cyclone - 9/9/8/6
Weapon : Cosmo Rod - Lvl16 (or lvl 1, it doesn't matter)
ATK - 210 ( it doesn't matter) ARM : 151 MGC : 221
Reasonings : In my opinion, every party needs at least a mage, then it would be considered a balance party. I do not wish to waste 2 slots for a healer and mage therefore, he sticks with his Cyclone. After all, he got 6 charges of Shining Wind and 8 charges of Healing Wind, so I would expect that is enough to handle the Hydra.

O.k here goes....

McDohl - Even though his personality is bland, his stats are the best EVER, so you would probably bring him along anyway. Equipped with silver hat, dragon armour/master garb, earthboots/guard ring etc

Flik - Good all rounder - Have him use a thunder rune and equipped with the same armour as Tir, with the addition of Earth/Chaos shield.

Victor - Not a Victor fan but I guess a good rune can remedy his skill. His magic def is more average than awful like other strong attackers, even though his HP will be nothing special by level 60.

Cleo - Good stats, she makes a great healer for the last boss and she can attack if no one needs healed. Equip her with Horned Helmet, master garb, guard ring/goldlet etc.

Pahn - Where you have Cleo, you must have Pahn right? - Anyway he has great HP, which makes up for his magic def and I think he has the best skill of an uber-attacker, so he shouldn't miss like Victor does. He also looks kinda cool and can protect the main character and Cleo.

Tengaar - Decent at attacking, great magic and a solid back row unit. I have her equip a cyclone/Thunder rune, as I think they can both link with the flowing.

Other optionals -

Camille - Often overlooked by others but is a very solid character - reliable physically and magically. Her skill is among the best, so she will critical alot. Her armour level is the same as the main character. Have her use a cyclone/Thunder rune.

Wow. In Suikoden 1, Magic is not really that powerful. In my opinion (and with reason), this is by far the best final party.

Tir (Required) - Soul Eater (Required)
Even if he wasn't required, I would still pick him, because the Soul Eater dominates everything in the world.

Viktor (Required) - Clone Rune / Double Beat Rune
If you plan to fight random battles then use the Double Beat so you can attack two enemies in one round. If you plan to fight the hydra, use the Clone along with the Dragon Seal curative item.

Flik (Required) - Thunder Rune
Fire and Lightning are the best elements in Suikoden 1. If Flik is level 65+ then definitley use the Thunder, because you'll get 3 or more Thunder Gods for groups and plenty of Balls of Lightning for singles.

Ronnie Bell - Hate Rune (Required)
Bell is the second best character in the game. Hands down. Hate Rune effect: x2 damage. She does not get unbalanced. She will be dishing out 500-900 damage per round, which is more than the mages in the long run.

Valeria - Falcon Rune (Required)
For the same reason Ronnie Bell is in. x2 damage with no unbalance. Valeria will deal out 500-800 damage per round.

Pesmerga / Fusulu - Clone Rune / Double Beat Rune
Kasumi's Shrike rune does x2 damage with no unbalance, but does not do a lot of damage. Every time I go through Suikoden, Pesmerga and Fusulu end up with the most damage and it is different each time. So, whoever has the higher Attack + Strength combination in your game, use them and equip them with whichever rune you did not give Viktor.

You can't lose...

Yes, but I believe you can use the Clone Rune and the Hate Rune, even from the back row.
