solo challenge impossible for this game?

Unlike other suikoden games, the first is really hard

Hm. If you can get into as few random battles as possible, it becomes easier at the later parts of the game, but still difficult since you're left with no means of healing your HP.

To put this into prespective, at least Suikoden 2's Solo Character Run is much saner because Riou can heal himself and still deal good enough damage. Sure, Tir can OHKO random mobs, but good luck trying to kill the bosses all by yourself.

Not only that, you will be partied with plot-critical characters most of the time, and some of them (especially Viktor) are virtually unkillable. So you can't say that's a Solo Challenge Run, to say the least.

That would be my way, too, even though I'd say it's "cheating" if you exploit the Marco-glitch to get tons of money and then bribe your way through the game.

Marco and Gaspar hurt this game a lot!

But even without them its still easy. Farm 9 Water Rune Pieces and thats it.
