There are several enemies for this:

You can even get it right at the start of the game.

you've personally got the item so early in the game? or is it merely your assumption because the guide says so?

after finding out that only ivy on seek valley drops knight statue, I must say I can't really trust your information. the ivy on dragon knights' domain won't drop the item

never mind, I just got the item from holly boy

Where'd you find that out?

It is my assumption because I wrote this guide ;) And all the info in it is my assumption as well, because the game code says so :)

3 hours straight and no result from the area around dragon knights' fortress but when I go to seek valley, it drops the statue right away when it drops ?ornament. kinda weird, don't you think?

why don't you test it yourself? see if you can ever get the knight statue from ivy on dragon knights' domain

i can say that i've definitely gotten the items in the past, and unless there is a new set of enemies triggered by the Gregminster events, the drops are not going to change.
