My castle never upgrades to level 4

wonder what's wrong? I'm on a mission to seek valley

Castle Upgrades are based on number of SoD recruited so no matter how far in the game you are if you havent recruited enough people it wont upgrade. Also the easiest way to see the upgrade is to arrive at your castle by ship, each upgrade the camera will pan up showing you your castle, the fourth level there is a banner hanging.
