You're supposed to load a save file at the final one prior to the last boss. The meager amounts of EXP you should gain from exiting Gregminster Palace isn't really that much of a big deal..

load any save after beating Ain Gide and gaining access to Gregminster Palace. it does not have to be a save IN Gregminster Palace.
