tattoos will likely be a thing forever, just different designs and different parts of the body will be popular at different times. The tramp stamp (à la Kika in Suikoden 4) was really popular for a while. Until people started pointing out how trashy and whorish it makes girls look.
I can't stand these celebrity women who get tattoos on their hands and arms. It might look suitable for when they're in a pop music video or something or a photo shoot for an album, but then they go to these events where they dress up all glamorous and have their hair done up and sparkly makeup and wear an expensive designer gown with diamond accessories and shoes that compliment the outfit, and there's that trashy looking tattoo on their hand or their arm or their neck or shoulders which just ruins everything.
The only tattoos I really like are tribal tattoos, and only if that tribe is actually part of your ancestry. If you've got it done just because you think it looks cool then you're a twonk.
Those white guys who get Japanese style tattoos. No, you're not a samurai, you're not yakuza, you're just a little nerd who watches too much anime.
