So Episode 1 and 3 are already finished? (The only news I read time ago was that kestrel translated ep.3, on Suikogaiden translation project page).

BTW, great job with Suikogaiden translation

They're translated, not finished, but they can be.

Quick note for anyone wondering, Suikogaiden Vol.2 has finished the translation phase. Still a ways off before it will be released though.

Wow, amazing! That was surprising. It's great to see all mainworld Suikodens now translated. Even though I liked the Card Stories Patch to look a bit more polished.

So, Raww, now you're doing a completely new SUikoden 3 translation? :P

I would, but I don't have the technical knowledge and Pokeytax who did most of the programming on the gaidens is moving on to Segagaga so not likely to happen.

Aw, too bad. I'd love to play the game with a proper translation. Actually, I'd love a good translation of 1, 2 and 3 that uses the same terminology as your Suikogaiden translations as I think that's really accurate (even though it's hard to let go of the Star Dragon Sword...)

Does anyone think that there's a possibility of approaching Konami with this? I remember a group that did a Mother 3 translation and told Nintendo that they could use it if they want. of course, nothing happened, but that would be really cool.

What's the problem with Suikoden 3's translation?

Unless they announce a Suikoden Legacy HD Collection at TGS or something that includes the gaidens, I honestly can't see any use Konami would have of it as releasing them on their own is unlikely to be profitable, even on PSN.

If they made an announcement like that I would certainly look into approaching them.

Same thing that's wrong with Suikoden II's essentially. Some examples being Hugo reacting to Luc's speech about Dharma and Chaos, Sasarai upon seeing Luc without the mask, Sana somehow becoming the Fire Hero when Geddoe greets her, etc. And a lot of small stuff like Fubar, Zexen Rune, Jacques, Dark Wind.

Plus an awful lot of inconsistency with the previous games.

I mean, just about the only good thing I can say about it is that at least they didn't forget to translate some of it.

Then perhaps an article detailing the worst offenders in Suikoden III's translation? :)

Seems you got your wish, Pokeytax has released an updated version in celebration of Vol.2 being finished.

Oh dammit, this is the best Suiko-week ever. Thank you all so much! I hope to replay all Suikodens soon, I haven't played II and V in ages. Perfect timing for Suikogaiden as well.
