What sorts of things (publications, etc.) are counted as canon? For instance, are the novels canon? How about the Genso Shinsyo publications? Thanks.

I believe that Due Fiumi has something on that.

From what I've read, the games are the absolute Canon, with the "best" endings being the canon ending for each game (with the exception of Suikoden 3, since I believe Konami still hasn't revealed who has each of the True Runes).

As for publications, I know they don't consider the Suikoden 3 Manga as canon, not sure about the novels (though most likely not, either).

As for Genso Shinsyo and Genso Suikoden Card Stories/Genso Suikoden TCG, I can't comment since I wasn't around when Konami was commenting on them.
