This is the closest thing to an official guide (eBay).

whileheavenwept,
Please do not post the same question on two different topics.

Come to think of it, the Suikoden 3 guide book was never released in the US. I've been trying to look for it but I can't find it anywhere.

So are the guidebooks useful if you've already played the games and know the value of gamefaqs?

What I mean by this is whether there is information about the suikoden universe that can be gleaned from the guides that is not readily availible in the games.

The guides are meant to offer visual references to the walkthroughs they're offering you. Sometimes it's downright hard to follow a text-only guide when you're looking for something.

But yeah, other than that, most guides are fairly useless if you already know the game by heart/abuse GFAQs.
