Unexplored Territory

Questions about the locations mentioned in the series; and those about the backstory not seen in the games.

Unexplored Territory

Post by Lemmy Claypool »

Just wondering where we've yet to see in a Suikoden game, so I thought I'd compile a quick list. Feel free to add to or correct it.

Most of Harmonia (I know we get a glimpse of it in Suiko III, but I can't imagine the bulk of the country being explored until the final Suikoden)
Kanakan
Nameless Lands
Gaien Mainland

Anywhere I've missed?

NOTE: I'm not including places like the World of Wings & Scales, the World of Emptiness or Viki's homeland as these are all pretty obscure and don't seem to be on the actual Suiko World.

It is unknown what the Southlands are exactly, although it is often speculated that it is actually Kooluk.

How can the Southlands be Kooluk, True Wind Bearer. I haven't seen anyone from Kooluk look or dress like Shin or Kasim Hazil or Wakaba or Long Chan Chan.

My bad, it's mainly just an out there theory. Here's a topic on Kooluk you should read.

We have also yet to see a country that is situated in a cold area with lots of snow.

The original list needs to be updated.

"Most of Kooluk", or rather, the rest of Kooluk Empire is already featured in Suikoden Tactics Rhapsodia. Falena will be shown too, once Suikoden V comes out.

Do you think that there will be snowy areas in Falena?

Don't think so, Falena is in the southern regions of the planet and south is probably hotter than north. Also Falena is a 'water continent' so i doubt it. However maybe there might be some plot line explenation to a snowy region in falena.

I agree, I don't think there will be any snow, as far as I can tell from the music and some of the imagery I get the feeling Falena is going for an Egyptian theme, and that's very far from a snowy region.

There may be snowy areas because Falena has mountains.

The existence of the Sun Rune in Suikoden V leads me to believe that it's going to be warm climate, but obviously we'll have to wait and see.

Somehow S5's a mix of Egyptian and Oriental customs, IMO.
