The younger brother of Amaralicht, Quillard is a fellow volunteer soldier from Pharamond whom Guntram organized to help take Astrasia back from the Order.

A hot-headed nationalist, Quillard desires strongly to remove the Order from his home. However, unlike his brother, Quillard reserves a special hatred in his heart for Fredegund, who sold herself out to the Order. Despite Amaralicht telling his brother to forgive, Quillard cannot let go and even questions Chrodechild as to her forgiveness. Chrodechild responds that she too, is guilty of abandoning her people and cannot punish Fredegund for doing so. Quillard protests that Chrodechild still fought in exile to return, but Chrodechild responds that it is still abandonment. The Hero refuses to allow Quillard to fight Fredegund, as she is a member of his company and he will fight to protect her. Distraught, Quillard flees the city and is captured by the Order. The Hero, Chrodechild, Fredegund, and Amaralicht rescue him. Once the Order troops are crushed, Fredegund speaks. She accepts that Quillard hates and cannot forgive her, but he is making his brother worry so much about him, just as Fredegund’s actions worried Chrodechild. The princesses’ swords react to the two brothers, and both are revealed as Starbearers, where they join the hero’s company.

Even though he has trouble forgiving her, Quillard watches Fredegund push herself to atone for her mistakes, and notices her effort. He decides that he will fight to protect even her, and learns swordsmanship from her.

Quillard is made a Royal Knight of Astrasia soon after the war with the Order ends. - Matt620
