The daughter of Nova, Sophia is a quiet, malevolent girl who fiercely advocates Valfred’s desires and assists him as an archivist.

Sophia was fatally wounded by Nova when he went berserk as a result of receiving the mark of the Sacred Twin Blades. Using the True Chronicle, Valfred erased Sophia’s afflictions, but her mind blotted Nova out from her memory completely, causing her to think of Valfred as her actual father. Valfred gives her the Mark of the True Chronicle, granting her Starbearer-like abilities.

Sophia goes out with Nova as a bodyguard to search for the Chronicles. She first meets the Hero when Dirk burns the Hero’s chronicles, chastising him for trying to destroy them instead of bringing them to Diadora, which were his orders.

Sophia is brought with Diadora to Pharamond to assist in stealing the Chronicles, and, with the Fierce Regalia in hand, leads an attack on the Hero’s castle. She and Nova manage to halt the combined efforts of Asad and Chrodechild, but Manaril is able to subdue her by activating the Chronicle, causing it’s memory to pour into Sophia’s brain. Unused to the strain, she passes out and loses the Chronicle.

After Valfred gains the Chronicle of Boundless Amber and uses it to try and bring about the 11th fusion, he implants the book into Sophia. Nova is opposed to this and attacks, but Sophia stops him, only stopped by the intervention of the Hero and Diadora, who had defected to his side.

Sophia stops the Hero’s attack at Fort Arc, turning into a creature made of sand, and spawning smaller ones throughout the fortress. As neither blade nor spell could harm the creatures, the Hero withdrawals.

Thanks to the alliance of the Auster Folk, Diadora’s Gateway-opening abilities, and Priestess Neira’s magic, the Hero manages to get to Sophia. There, Liu is able to suppress her Chronicle with his own, allowing Nova to get close to his daughter. She remembers him as her father, and the Chronicle leaves her body.

Sophia is brought back to the castle. Once she recovers, she explains that Valfred is actually causing the fusions of the worlds to happen, rather then altering their locations as Diadora believed. The One King was originally to descend and end the world after five fusions, but after the fourth, Valfred started making the fusions happen himself in a ritual.

Sophia opts to travel to the 11th world after it appears to find the Chronicle before Valfred does with the Hero. She is unable to retrieve it from him, however, but she fights as a Starbearer to stop the One King once he descends.

Sophia is taken aback by Manaril’s desire to become friends with her, as Sophia was part of the plot to end the entire Magedom, including the lives of Manaril’s parents. But Sophia accepts her offer and, with the Mark of the True Chronicle inside her, is able to help Manaril and Mubal with their research of Chronicles after the One King is defeated. - Matt620
