The stoic, armored guardian of Sophia, Nova is, in fact, her biological father. When Nova had originally joined with Valfred, he used the True Chronicle in order to make Nova an artificial Starbearer, granting him a mark from the Sacred Twin Blades. However, this process caused Nova to go berserk. He slashed his wife, who died immediately, and Sophia, who was dealt a mortal blow. Valfred used the Chronicle to mend Sophia’s wounds, but her mental trauma caused her to blot Nova out of her mind, causing her to forget he was her father.

Nova, however, was content with this, as Sophia had no memory at all about the incident, and allowed Nova to serve as her bodyguard. The two attempted to combat the Hero several times, even using the power of the Chronicle of Fierce Regalia, only to be stopped by Manaril.

After the desert world appears, Valfred uses the Chronicle for his purposes, then implants the book in Sophia, despite an agreement with Nova not to do such an act. Valfred replies that Sophia was the one who asked to do it. Enraged, Nova attacks, only to be blasted by Sophia. He was attended to by Diadora, who had defected to the Hero’s side. The Hero attempted to combat Valfred, but the arrival of Beardsley and Dirk caused Diadora to simply teleport the Hero’s entourage, including Nova, away.

Nova is tended to by Dr. Zahra, and after he rests, he tells the Hero his story. He begs the Hero to rescue Sophia. He agrees, and sympathizes with Nova, as he planned on rescuing Dirk from the Order, and it wouldn’t make sense to not help Sophia.

Nova attempts to go through Fort Arc, but Sophia blocks him by creating monsters made of sand. After the Company recruits the Auster Folk and uses Liu to suppress the Chronicle within Sophia, Nova is able to reconcile with his daughter, whose memories return, and successfully remove the Chronicle from her body.

After Sophia recovers, father and daughter serve side by side with the Hero in the company. He becomes happy for Sophia when he learns that Manaril wants to become friends with her. He stays on with the Company after the One King’s fall. - Matt620
