A legendary blademaster of Astrasia, Mourgent was known to have the most superior skill in the entire Kingdom of the Sword. But Mourgent disappeared from the public sphere entirely, and led many, even Chrodechild, to believe that he was dead.

He had merely gone into hiding, however, in the ruins near Citro Village. He maintained contact with Gadburg, who asked the Hero to accompany him there once Divine Edge had revealed itself and Yula, a War Priestess from the Empire of the North Star, made her appearance. Yula, however, tailed the Hero, and entered into combat with Mourgent to prove her skill. Mourgent, however, holds back, as he thinks the Hero would have intervened if he used all of his skill. Believing it prudent to return, he accompanies the Hero’s army.

Mourgent makes it clear he will not discuss matters of his past to the Hero, which upsets both Yula and the inquisitive Meruvis.

Mourgent disappears soon after the One King falls. Rumors abound that he travels to the Empire of the North Star, but nothing could be confirmed. - Matt620
